This week I was able to convince Congressman Fleischmann (TN-3) to co-sponsor Ron Paul's bill to Audit The Fed (HR459). The House's online system should be updated in then next few days to reflect this.

I am getting close to having another Congressman sign on too. Then I am going to "go to work" on those who are less inclined to sign on ;)

Has YOUR Congressman signed on yet? If not, why not?

My congressman, Brad Sherman (CA district #27, soon to be #30) said he hasn't had time to read the bill yet? Sheesh. Pretty sure he voted for the Robama Care monster though without reading it.

My Congressman has already cosponsored it. I just didn't make a thread about it. I doubt he did it just because I asked him to. I'm not that almighty powerful.

Well that's the trick. You have to make them fear, and thus respect, you. They need to be scared of the political retribution you will bring if they don't sign onto it.

So your Congressman would be able to pick you out of a lineup and actually knows who you are and, not only that, they fear the political retribution you will bring if they don't join up with this bill.

That is fascinating. Why didn't you do it sooner?

Or maybe, JUST maybe they are so tired of you harrassing them they said yes to make you go away.

This actually wasn't my Congressman who I got signed on, but a Congressman in another part of the state. And yes, most of them know who I am, and if they don't I assure you their staff does.

Because it was just announced that Audit The Fed was coming to a vote.

Like arlen spector did, perhaps? Remember him? (and remember what happened to him?) Remember back in the early fall of 2008, when many of us were calling our elected "representatives" and asking them to oppose that bailout? I remember being told by whoever answered the phone at his office that he was going to vote against the bailouts, because it was a "waste of taxpayer money". Then, of course he voted for it. I suspect that you remember having this very same experience as well.

Your post and good news has just made me contact both of my senators.

The senate is critical since we only have about 20% support right now.

I hope you are also contacting your Representative. Having a Senator willing to vote favorably will not matter much otherwise.

My representative resigned to campaign and his position is vacant. Not sure what that means.
