I don't have a religion. But I like the writings of the Stoics (Marcus Aurelius, 'Meditations', for one). Aurelius wasn't all that interested in the question of whether there were gods, or what they wanted. As he said (paraphrasing from memory): 'I will try to live a good life and do my duty. If God is just, then he will reward me accordingly. If God is not just, then how could I sincerely worship him anyway?'

Christian.

More specifically : Protestant, evangelical, Calvinist, missional, creedobaptist, non-cessationist, complementarian

I an a Wesleyan/Armenian Protestant. It would be interesting to see which of the different Protestant doctrines are RP supporters. Calvinist/ Reformed or Armenian or whatever.

Agnostic and atheist are not even close to being the same.

Atheist and Agnostic are not the same.
Care to elaborate? I probably consider myself an agnostic atheist, and see much overlap between the two. I can't 100% rule out that there is not a god, just as I can't 100% rule out that there is not an ice-cream factory on Jupiter. With that said, I can make an educated guess based on the evidence (or lack thereof).

Not religious, but not athetist.
Spiritual, but not religious.

I'll go with this. I believe in God, and I believe in Jesus. I try to emulate Jesus the best I can, but many churches have completely screwed up everything.

I'm so glad to see Athiesim (which isn't a religion ) is at the top. The world is waking up to the foolishness of religion. When I was a baby, I was a victim of genital mutilation under the guise of a Christian religious cult. So were millions of other men. There is no difference between what was done to me and the genital mutilation done to women in the east and Africa. If you dare say it is done for "health reasons" you are a fool. If it was inherently unhealthy, then why haven't we evolved to not need it as a species? Oh yeah, because you don't believe in evolution.

Sorry, I'm not going to be "nice" because religion isn't nice and it's track record throughout history proves it in spades. Religion causes good moral people to do horrible things in the name of a mystical invisible force.

I am Anti-theist, and I am your enemy.

Here's a wikipedia for ya.

Within agnosticism there are agnostic atheists (who do not believe any deity exists, but do not deny it as a possibility) and agnostic theists (who believe a God exists but do not claim to know that).

I fall into the latter characterization.

People tend to forget that atheists don't necessarily deny the existence of a god (though they can). An atheists merely doesn't believe in a god, but doesn't necessarily make further statement on whether or not a god exists. So it's perfectly valid to say that you're an atheist, but don't know if god exists.

Agnosticism says that you're undecided.

So both agnositicism and atheism can overlap to a degree.

I too was circumsised. I don't feel anger towards religion for it though. It's not going to change anything or go back and be reversed. I never had problems with women or anything because of it either. So.... to me it's really not that big of a deal, everything still functions. However I can see why you might be mad about it. I probably won't do it to my kids though and let them decide if they want to have it done later in life.

As far as religion causing good moral people to do bad things? I don't buy it. People tend to do bad things regardless and those that go against religion or do bad stuff 'in the name of religion' (when they are really also going against their beliefs) is not something new. But it's the same as looking at political parties in that respect. We have several republicans and conservatives that go against what they are supposed to be about. It's just easier to now call bullshit on them and see that they are not real 'believers' in the small government, less spending philosophy. It isn't the party that caused people to be this way, but the way people co-opted and changed the party (in many ways the same things have happened to religion as well).

It doesn't happen very often that someone is lead to hate religion because of their penis. I disagree with your hate, but kudos for the originality.

For people who have never experienced the paranormal(for lack of a better term) I could understand how atheism could be drawn as a logical conclusion on life. But please don't blame the evil done by a few on religion as a whole.

Well, when you put together all of the religions in the poll that believe in God (all of them except for Buddhism) I'm pretty sure they outnumber the atheists. It just looks like atheism is at top because it has its own category.

Also, Jesus > religion.

I'm atheist, but coming from a Christian family I can identify and relate to Christians. I'm not one of these "get God removed from everything" people, and I tend to believe religion can serve a good purpose in society.

Despite being a libertarian forum there are atheists here who are falling into the "us versus them" group think rather than treating people as individuals. I'm atheist, my family is Catholic; I don't despise them, I love them.
