So I guess that rumor about The Judge being Trump's #1 pick was not true then...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, released Wednesday a list of 11 potential Supreme Court justices he plans to vet to fill the seat of late Justice Antonin Scalia if he's elected to the White House.

The list of conservative federal and state judges includes Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado and Raymond Gruender of Missouri.

Also on the list are: Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas. Trump had previously named Pryor and Sykes as examples of kind of justices he would choose.

Give yourself an L if you're one of those people that fell for Trump and his people saying that they would consider Judge Napolitano for supreme court position. As it turns out, he didn't even make the top 10 list.

While you are trying to carve and L on your forehead, why don't you add in an atomic wedgie, you really deserve both. And this is the biggest problem with Trump, he has no credibility which means that there is no way of knowing if he actually believes what he is saying.

His campaign stressed the list was compiled "first and foremost, based on constitutional principles, with input from highly respected conservatives and Republican Party leadership."

Make America great again, you're doing it wrong.

Hmmmm,

How can Judge Andrew Napolitano be Trump's VP and
also serve on the Supreme Court at the same time?

If Trump put The Judge on that list the lede in every story across the country is, "Trump gets his SCOTUS nominees from the shows." Trump too smart to fall in to that trap.

You kidding me?

Trump himself is a realty TV star.

He said back in March he would have a list in "two weeks". The Heritage Foundation was supposed to tell him who to nominate.

Derp

13 times Trump's potential Supreme Court pick mocked him

Washington (CNN)Don Willett, a justice who serves on the Texas Supreme Court and was appointed by then-Gov. Rick Perry, is on Donald Trump's list of potential Supreme Court nominees unveiled Wednesday.

But it appears he's not a fan of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Here are some tweets from the last year the Texas justice has written about the real estate mogul.

When I saw the other thread which said that Napolitano was on Trumps list for SCOTUS, I instantly thought of this article and then noticed that it was posted.

At this point, Trump will say or leak anything to get elected, trying to work the Libertarian vote.

What he would actually do if in office is anyone's guess.

His history tells us that hes a vowed Liberal.

Well then, he must be on the short list for AG... ;)

The point of mentioning it is to simply cite other reasonable factors at work apart from the negativity put out by the one-track "Trump is Darth Vader" faction here. In fact, most of the 11 names are younger jurists in their 40s and 50s, suggesting Trump (like previous Republicans) wants a nominee who can have a 25+ year tenure on the SC, which Nap (at 65) likely can't provide. His exclusion was probably based on age, not opposition to liberty. And yes, he might still be on a list for something else.

The big picture is that Trump is not putting his sister on the court, but solid jurists in the Scalia/Thomas mold. His choice parameters are clearly reasonable, pro-Constitutional, and unifying to the party. Between issuing this list and the foreign policy statement, he has presented the equivalent of a 'Contract with America' deal that provides a transparent guide to what he will be doing, instead of the worst-case portraits his detractors keep painting.

Actually, it is one of the people on his list doing the Trump == Vader thing.
