Interviewed by Brian Thomas, Judge Napolitano endorsed Matt Bevin for US Senate and Rick Brueggemann for Circuit Judge. He raised the topic of Matt Bevin himself, and seems to have been following polling for the race more closely than most. The whole interview is interesting.

Even if Bevin somehow pulled this off, which I highly doubt, if Brannon is an indication of anything, he'd need more than the liberty crowd backing him.

Precisely, and I don't really see that happening. Not for Grimes, either, as I fear there will be too many complacent people that will just let McConnell back into office.

Yep, that's my greatest sorrow of all these races. We have the power to win if we put in an effort like we did for Rand. But many seem to be not paying attention, give up too easily, or not have time to come to trust the candidates as much. Every election cycle, with the same level of focus, contribution, and grassroots effort, we could add several more to our ranks in congress. Although most of us cheered for him, Brannon didn't get that, and although other groups like have stepped up like Freedomworks, SCF, Madison Project, Generation Joshua and local liberty people Bevin hasn't gotten anywhere near Rand-level support from the national liberty movement. And we hear "support local candidates instead," but pretty much the same applies to them. They don't get the enthusiasm or support either, even though it would take less effort to bump most of them over the top.

I don't know how to change it. We've got to figure it out soon. The truth is, the power has been in our hands to win these races if we really wanted it. If establishment types stay in office, it's because we didn't exercise our full power. Given that the incumbent dropped 9% and Bevin closed 25% in 2 months, and had 17% with 5 weeks left to go, and Rand both Moffett got 10% more turnout than polls showed, we should be still well in reach. But if apathy and despair win over, we create exactly what we resigned ourselves to.

On the bright side, one of the establishment's SuperPACs said it couldn't join in in attacking Amash because it had to focus on "defending incumbents from conservative challenges." So when we give the establishment a run for their money with a 10th of the resources, it seems to lift pressure elsewhere. There are many advantages to pressing them in every possible election.

Part of the group that put Rand into office is literally endorsing and working for McConnell. I'm not from KY, and I don't have any contacts out there, so I'm not going to pretend to know how much of an impact that has had, but I imagine it's had at least some impact.
