He's probably trying to earn brownie points in a heavily Democratic district. He promised he'd vote no if it included federal funding for abortions. But that was written out of the overall plan and he voted according to principle. I don't believe that principle was right, but it's still respectable.

Either way, he's leagues better than the ethically bankrupt Bill Jefferson and his freezer money.
