Jon Stewart to cover Ames/Paul media blackout on Daily Show - Tonight

Man get the tubes up!!!!

But isn't Stewart liberal? I didn't think he supported Paul

Of course he doesn't agree with him on every issue, or even on many issues that most Paul supporters consider to be of the utmost importance (low taxes, less regulation, smaller welfare state, etc), but one positive thing that must be said of him and his staff is that they are vehemently anti-war and pro civil liberties, and their support of RP tonight reflects this. Although they might prefer Obama to Paul (though even that is questionable and arguably changeable if approached in the right way), they certainly prefer Paul to every other Republican running. And this is certainly a good thing.

Stewart has always been generous towards Paul, although they differ pretty significantly with certain issues he has always acknowledged that he is honest and principled. At the end of the program he usually has a little segway towards Colbert's show where he talks to Colbert about his guest, and one episode of Colbert's where Paul was interviewed Jon gave a compliment to Paul. Something along the lines of "we have had him on our program and he is a very interesting person to talk to and I'm sure you will enjoy hearing what he has to say" This was a few years ago, before the 08 primaries.

I think many liberals would prefer Paul to be the nominee because they want Obama to clarify himself and present a much less muddled vision and plan. Paul would certainly cause this highly polarized debate.

Everyone needs to see this. It made my day.

This, along with the new announcement tomorrow, 2nd in the straw poll, dominating the debate, positive comments all over the internet and the interview with Piers Morgan have cured everything that was bothering me a week ago.

Drudge and Jon Stewart did us justice today.

It's just dawning on me. This may very well be the Giuliani moment we were looking for. The media just did us a HUGE favor with their blackout. :D

good chance it will be posted on his website pretty soon as the daily show normally puts their stuff up relatively fast. Tubing it is only asking to get your account banned

Stewart has defended Ron Paul a lot in the past, and made one of my favorite quotes while interviewing RP before the last election in 2007.

"You seem to be a man of consistent principled integrity..................Americans don't usually go for that"

I think you're right. Most Americans hate what's going on in Washington DC - they don't trust much. And they hate the media. When they see both working together against an honest man...watch out.

I'm glad I'm here for the ride and I think we are in great position. :)

I think that reasonable Democrats, even if they don't want to vote for a Republican in general, respect a change from the hypocrisy of the establishment. Think about it: Deficit spending and entitlements are bad, welfare is bad, foreign welfare is great, foreign wars are great, limited government is good, government should define marriage, gays are the loch ness monster, go bailouts!

At least Paul is consistent, isn't a war propagandist and respects civil liberties. I think that can go a long way even with the left
