Message for Dr. Ron Paul

Dear Mr. Paul

How are you today? Blessed by our Lord, I hope. I have followed
your campaigns for many years and I have supported you at every turn.
It was because of you that I learned about the Libertarian Party.

You have every right Sir to run in whatever party that you want. You
may have been able to be the Presidential candidate as a Libertarian.
You have so many people who love you and your ways too. I am
a candidate in the neighboring District 22 for Congress.

I know that our Republican friends are not too pleased with us right now.
But Sir, I wonder what our Libertarian friends think too. Life begins @
Conception for all Americans and this is the biggest campaign issue of
all times. It is amazing to me how politicians so quickly fall into the
quagmire of some many mundane issues. With what time you have left
in the Presidential Campaign, I think that you need to hit the abortion
issue as hard and as long as you can Sir.

There is one last item in this open Letter to you, I want you to hear.
I think, that enough people love you in your home District 14, That
you have ran as a Libertarian this time and won the seat hands down.

May God Bless you and your Campaigns.

Ok I'm going to have to be a jerk here;

8 cell embryos are not more important than our young men and women dying in foreign countries for big corporations.

The end.

.. yet another divisive poll.. nice.. ok.. we get it.. we want Paul supporters arguing with Paul supporters and calling each other names over a controversial topic they can be passionate about.

That's so clever of you.

Wow, that was an incredibly unprofessional and unconvincing post for a Congressman to make.

I hate to be even more divisive here, but technically embryos, and our soldiers are not quite as important as our failing economy. Yes, I know it sounds screwed up.

But, in foresight, an economic depression has the potential to kill many more people than even the Iraq War.

Without a strong economy, we can never have a strong military, and our weapons will fall into a state of disrepair, we will not have the money to continue financing logistical costs, and we will be forced to either bring the troops home, or let them die in much greater numbers than they are today.

Mr. Wieder, I agree with you that the unborn deserve every right to life as the rest of us do. However, I disagree that any issue can ever be more important than our economy. Without a strong economy there can be no strong country, no advanced medical care, no strong military, no high paying jobs, no middle class.

I believe that the Usurers printing our money, and controlling our banks, are the greatest threat to this country, hands down. Once upon a time, Usury was one of the most condemned sins, now however few people really know it's true meaning, or know why it was a sin.

I agree with you.

There are many many issues much more pressing and important than abortion. People need to realize that forcing someone to birth an unwanted child destroys that child's life anyway. Growing up an unloved orphan is not a wonderful miracle of sacred life yaddah yaddah.

IF it is a woman's right to choose, since it is her body, why is suicide against the law?

Lol. The law against suicide still cracks me up. Good stuff.

But really. People who are against abortion need to take a step back and look at the life of a child. If a woman does NOT want to have a child, but the government forces her to have it, that child is unwanted. It won't be loved and provided for by loving parents. That child will most likely end up in foster homes or an orphanage or barely cared for in his/her parents home. That kind of childhood does not behoove a well rounded, wise, citizen. That kind of childhood breeds depressed, warped, unloved people who sometimes do dangerous things.

Besides, the planet is already too crowded anyway. With all the advances in medicine, the fetal fatality rate has dropped so much that natural selection is being completely overrun. Call me callous, but my practicality overrides my compassion.

So true! Hey, here's a thought. We could get rid of so many *more* unwanted children if we just go ahead and terminate them *after* they're born. Maybe even wait a month or two, just to see if they're really wanted. Think of the effect that would have on poverty! And bingo...no more population problems! I think it's brilliant. How do we go about getting this passed into law?

Just poison the vaccines. Oh, wait......

Should Ron just continue preaching to the choir? Most people's minds are fairly made-up regarding abortion. I don't think he can influence the abortion debate much, besides pointing out that leaving enforcement up to the states is the more constitutional position.

There are plenty of other issues such as the falling dollar, the Federal Reserve, the IRS, sound money, fiscal discipline, protecting civil liberties, etc., which are ignored by practically every other politician. I'd prefer Ron continue to highlight these oft-ignored issues which will dictate our future prosperity moreso than the usual trivial abortion debate. Every election cycle abortion appears as an 'issue', yet between cycles NOTHING HAPPENS. It's a giant distraction around election-time, like the MLB steriods investigations.

I agree, this is absolutely the second most important issue, Freedom (which incorporates all other issues) is the most important. We must retain our freedom or civil war is the only answer.

On February 22nd, the MOST BASIC right of the people is before the S. Ct. on Request for Rehearing, this means they have already refused to hear this case which limits government tyrany.

Just make a new executive order; murder is legal. Oh wait, Bush has already done that for his administration....

I say "do not know". I think, scientifically, life is a cellular thing ... so life would begin at conception. When would there be some sort of self-awareness. or a soul. or whatever it might be. I don't know, and no one can no for certain. I'm not religious, and I won't say there IS a soul, because I don't know. And I certainly wouldn't know when the lump of cells gets one. so the safe bet is to go the route of Dr. Paul, with science. at conception, there is the creation of life.

Economy and Iraq war FIRST! Abortion shouldn't even be an issue in the Presidential platform. It should be a state's issue! It's too personal and divisive to even try to be debated.

amen to that. social issues should be state issues. I really could care less about gay marriage. abortion is tricky. but neither impact me. our economic woes do. or foreign policy does (especially when it impacts the economy!).

So whats the penalty for suicide though? lol

IF it is a woman's right to choose, since it is her body, why is suicide against the law?

I do believe people toss these threads in here to get people griping and moaning and so be it. Happy to see more threads at least.

I believe from conception someone is alive. Now as far as what people are talking about in here about priority though is something totally different. How do you rationalize letting one die over another no matter what age they are. Only thing I can agree with is it is easier to be sad when there is a face, personality and so forth over a supposed unborn baby BUT life is life for me at least.

As far as what would save more lives, of course the economy and bringing our troops home but the thing about this "womans body her choice' stuff is this. WHere did the mans rights go in the entire deal? The baby is HALF ours.

What I think needs to happen and could really fix all of this is my perfect idea below lol.

Stop focusing on if abortion is right or wrong and start focusing on prevention and ACCOUNTABILITY. Why is getting an abortion easier then going to a regular doctor, allowed for TEENS to not even tell their parents and is allowed as many times as wanted.

Women who have MULTIPLE abortions need to realize that THEY are doing something wrong. Why not work on PREVENTION instead of getting abortions since "its my body".

I have a hard time with some circumstances though, as in a rape baby and so forth but even then once that baby pops out you WILL love him/her for the rest of their lives no matter how terrible the sperm donor was.

My dad personally was the worst, haven't seen him since I was 4, wife beater and all that jazz. No matter what happens in life, it cant be the kids fault and you need to just love them.

I think the abortion thing stems from not taking care of responsibility and nothing more. If you realized that you cant just go get a free abortion anytime you wanted or maybe it was VERY expensive I think women might work more on staying NOT pregnant. Be accountable and stop taking the easy way out JUST BECAUSE its your right.

The teens being able to have abortions without parental consent pisses me off the most though. They are KIDS and can't make their own decisions and their PARENTS OR GUARDIANS are the ones who are responsible for them. Teens get them because they are scared to tell their parents and so forth BUT if it really came down to it a parent WOULD help their child deal with this situation just like all the others before while they grew up. It is the parents right to help their child with the decision and its the teens responsibility to allow their parents to help them with their decision. not adults = no say, "while you are living under my roof" should still apply in ALL aspects of their lives. Once legal age THEN you dont tell your parents because then you would be of age and can make your own decisions.

stop having unprotected sex and assuming that no matter what "I can just abort it" as a simple solution. I just dont see that as a simple solution. I see most teens aborting due to being scared of the parents and so forth and they dont want the baby to start showing and so forth.

I wish there was a law that made people give birth (as long as it is safe) but then can let someone else adopt their baby once born. I doubt most women could easily let go of their newborn baby and would odds are raise and love them. Of course there are some that just cant BUT it would be doing something great for another couple who could now adopt that baby and love and care for him/her.

Give em a chance at least.
