John Tate on Maine, Moneybomb

What the hell is wrong with you guys? The man has fought 30 years for us, I expect the same and then some. I don't want to hear all of this self-defeatist bullshit. It's not even optional, to not make this moneybomb large. Kapeesh?

They were able to get away with this vague rah rah stuff before all of the recent results came in but that dog isn't going to hunt any longer. They want us to raise $5 million and they don't even say how?!?

How? You go over to the campaign website and push the donate button. That's how. If you want to encourage others to do the same, you help to build excitement for the moneybomb. You can do that by making videos, promoting the MB via email, facebook, flyers, etc.

I'm sorry, but no frickin' one told us in '07/'08 HOW to raise 5 million dollars in a single day. We just did it and set records in the process! The campaign didn't even ask us for the money. We knew they needed it, so WE figured out how to do it and made it happen.

Grow some balls, boys, and fight for your liberty.

You want a plan?

5,000,000/2,500=2,000

We need 2,000 people to believe in the freedom of the entire human race enough to give a measly $2,500.

That's an INVESTMENT of only $625 per year per presidential election, or $52 a month, or $1.73 a day.

Your return on investment is $1T in cuts in the first year, continued in perpetuity. Or, a savings of approx $10,000 per US household per yer, $833 per month, $27 per day.

That's a pretty damn good ROI, if you ask me. Invest $1.73, and US gov't doesn't accrue $27 of additional debt.

We need some suggestions on how we find some relatively wealthy people who may support liberty who would be willing to part with $2,500. Doctors would be a start. People in the tech industry, etc.

I've proposed a pledge system to the campaign, and tried to hire grassroots folks to code it... Basically like kickstarter.com (I had the idea, then found someone implemented it for commercial purposes already)

Basically the moneybomb wouldn't happen until the goal was reached, guaranteeing everybody was happy with the result. Right now a lot of people don't max out because there is no cumulative effect and encouragement to increase the donation. Even if not maxing out, it would increase contributions. People would be willing to (for example)double their donation if they knew the $5M goal was going to be reached.

Kind of like public radio... they always get more donations in the hours that there is a matching contribution, just like we see here on the forums, too....

THEY MUST POST THIS ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE!! These LONNNNNNNGGG emails, though valuable, do not inspire "donations". IF they post everyother day with their facebook and Stress the importance of it, PEOPLE WILL ANTE UP!

Facebook reaches 850K. I hardly doubt the emails go out to that many people being that they are previous donors. But the campaign should be doing BOTH.

The No One But Paul Money Bomb on Tuesday can be a huge success if we, the Ron Paul Nation, decide to make a statement with our dollars.

Give him credit, John Tate and the Campaign finally declared WAR on the GOP Party Establishment and said that the Maine GOP Bosses stole the straw poll by not counting the remaining 13% of the vote, ie Washington Co. and others.

I have never in five years seen the Official Campaign come out and say anything like this. Everyone really needs to go back to the first page of the thread and read it carefully again. This is historic!!!!

Finally, the Campaign has gotten mad enough to go public, and stop with nicey nicey grap....I for one will support them on Tuesday with the largest donation I have made this primary cycle.

i'm guessing someone has contacted the campaign about getting this up on the FB page?

You completely missed the point of my post. It's called "game mechanics/theory" - read about it.

The donation ticker = game element/feature, +rep in RPF = game element, superbrochure's buy-a-county design = one big fucking game.

Ron is supposedly all about working smarter not harder right? Well guess what, this is how you do it. What the heck is so wrong/negative/defeatist about calling on the campaign to leverage all the feedback they receive and data they collect??

Thank you - yes! This is EXACTLY the sort of game functionality that the campaign/Tate should be leveraging.

Hey people -- $5 million is the MINIMUM we need to go forward. You thought taking on the establishment would be cheap? Easy? Get a GRIP on REALITY children.

Top. Hopefully someone from the campaign reads either my or gerryb's posts.

Otherwise, this money bomb won't bring in half as much as it could...

It's one thing to be dogmatic about the inaliable-rights outlined in the constitution... it's another to resist changes to your marketing strategy. Resistence to ALL CHANGE = CRANK BEHAVIOR = EPIC FAIL

This decision isn't made by Paul. It's made by the tech people and fundraising professionals. I agree that they should consider it. I sent a suggestion on the campaign site, did you?

I will be blunt. I know that some might interpret this as trolling but it is simple truth and it is written with best intentions:

I am member of RPF and didnt get email about moneybomb= FAIL
I am member of dailypaul and didnt get email about moneybomb= FAIL
I am member of Ron Paul facebook group and didnt get email about moneybomb= FAIL

There are more than a million people who are not contacted about moneybomb=FAIL.

In politics you need to kiss peoples asses and do all the work for them. Dont expect that potential donors just do all the work for them selfs. They need to be contacted, asked, complimented and pushed into donating.
