Dear Chris,

Throughout this campaign, Dr. Paul’s supporters have risen to the challenge time and again.

Thanks to this reinforcement, Dr. Paul has been able to defy expectations and shock the establishment.

Starting with the Minnesota State Convention this weekend, and continuing with several more meetings over the next few weeks alone, our movement has an opportunity to secure more delegates, take control of more local and state parties, and set the stage to not only make a tremendous impact on the direction of the Republican Party at Tampa, but to achieve lasting victory in the years to come.

As Dr. Paul wrote yesterday, his grassroots supporters are holding a Rise for Liberty Money Bomb this Thursday, May 17.

And I want to echo his latest call for your help one more time in what will likely be the final Money Bomb of this campaign.

The establishment has seen our successes over these past months, and they know that only our movement has the energy and dedication to put an end to the status quo and get this country back on track.

Your participation on Thursday will serve to remind them once again that we’re committed to making our message heard in Tampa – and beyond.

So please visit www.RonPaul2012.com tomorrow, May 17, to give to the Rise for Liberty Money Bomb.

For Liberty,

John Tate
Campaign Manager

P.S. Dr. Paul’s grassroots supporters are holding a Rise for Liberty Money Bomb this Thursday, May 17, and I hope you’ll answer his call to participate in what will likely be the final Money Bomb of this campaign.

Any funds raised during this effort will go toward having the greatest possible impact at the Republican National Convention and continuing our work to Restore America Now.

Two highlighted quotes likely coming to a media outlet near you.

He said "likely" - if it doesn't do well - and I'd say at least $650,000 (because that's what he asked for 'over the next two weeks' about a week ago) - if it doesn't do that well, then I think it will likely be the last one too.

This may be the last chance any of us get to participate in a "Ron Paul Moneybomb". That's a piece of history and something I want to tell my kids! Let's go out with a BANG!!

Here's the problem: John Tate makes it sound like John Tate or Jesse Benton organize the Moneybombs. They don't. We do.

And somehow, after seeing enough pissing and moaning on the Interwebz about the campaign this week, I find it hard to believe this will be the final Moneybomb.

Translation: All funds raised will be turned over to the Campaign for Liberty.

I got an e-mail from Ron Paul this morning that said:

To help me make as much of an impact in Tampa - and beyond - as possible, my grassroots supporters are holding a "Rise for Liberty" Money Bomb on May 17.

This is likely to be the last Money Bomb of my campaign, so I would truly appreciate your contribution.

At least he was crediting the grassroots and even named it. :)

edit: the John Tate e-mail did also, I missed it by skimming and only reading the bolded:

I wish they would stop saying that. It's not under their fucking control, and never was.

Final?

How are people suppose to take that other than we don't expect to win and aren't going to run third party?

Sure sounds depressing. I hope Paul reconsiders and runs third party, hopefully with a NEW campaign staff that is serious about winning now, not at some distant time point in the future.

I've donated alot already but am iffy on this moneybomb. If the campaign was going all-out on a max-delegate strategy where all our people, including those bound to Romney, flouted RNC rules and voted RP on the first round ballot my wallet would be wide open.

However, to take recent campaign communications at face value, they are packing it up and this money would just go to keep staff paychecks going a little longer. :(

That's exactly how they are supposed to take it. And it will be a self-fulfilling statement.

How so? Most states have already held their conventions and the ones that haven't, the die hard supporters (who are the only ones attending these conventions) are still going to show up. Everything is set in motion to maximize our delegates, which is the only chance we have to win. It's not like there's some 9th inning miracle they can pull right now to shake things up. Minnesota's state convention is this weekend and we are expected to win regardless if these recent emails went out. Iowa's convention is is in June and we are expected to win regardless if these recent emails went out. Texas has already elected delegates to the state convention and Ron Paul will be there speaking. The Texas delegates will show up and vote for as many delegates as they can. Everything is set in motion...

The campaign likely cannot advocate such things and it wouldn't be in our best interest anyway. They don't control us, though.

Which is why it will more than likely be the last moneybomb.

Tate has no control over how many or few money bombs are put on by grass roots.

Just sayin'
