I decided to post these because the issue of Christian economics is popping up on the forum. John Robbins was Ron Paul's chief of staff and one of his economic advisors in the 80's. John was a student of the late Austrian economist Hans Sennholz (who was a student of Mises). I can't tell you how much I have learned from these lectures. If anyone wants to know exactly how the Scripture teaches free market economics, please enjoy. Ron called John "one of the most stalwart defenders of freedom I've ever known".

Here are two more lectures that deal mostly with banking. They are very good:

Christianity and Economics (2 lectures)

John Robbins was an amazing economist and theologian, and I will enjoy listening to these lectures. I cannot recommend his book on Ayn Rand enough. I find it must reading for any Christian libertarian, because it exposes the pitfalls of some forms of libertarian thinking. It is too bad that more Christians are not well-versed in either economics/ political philosophy OR theology. If they were, perhaps more would be supporters.

Yes, on top of being a sound free market economist, he was also one of the more influential (and polarizing) theologians of the 20th century. He was a Christian that sought to bring all of life and thought under the authority of God's Word....to bring all the disciplines together.

His writings on the central doctrine of the Reformation, justification by faith alone, have been so edifying for me personally. The Lord has used his writings to confirm my faith and strengthen my understanding time and time again.

Bump for these lectures. I just finished listening to all 18 of them on my way to and from work everyday, and they are excellent.

Christian free market? LMAO! OMG what's next? Jesus was a goldbug? You "Christians" are just as arrogant and pathetic as any other religion. Ron Paul sure does bring out the nutters!

Should I try to make sense out of this post?

Or should I be embarrassed for someone who doesn't know that John Robbins was a student of Gottfried Dietze and Hans Sennholz, Ron Paul's chief-of-staff, and one of the most important Calvinist scholars in the last century?

Nah, I guess I'll just be content with my nutery...

von Mises was a Rockefeller stooge. Wish Ron Paul supporters would wake up and realize this.

The world moves on and evolves. So should religious people. If you want to believe in the fairy tale of a white bearded man in the sky go for it. Religion is ruining the world and is going to cause world war III. It's coming..........

I don't think it's a case of trying to change Christianity to fit free market principles, but rather a defense against the argument that in order to be a Christian, you have to be a socialist or part of a theocracy.

It's really even different than that. It's "what does the Bible teach"?

The Bible teaches property, free markets, and sound money.
