the reference i mean is one that the govt itself specifically wants the ability to backdoor the phone so it can crack the phone WITHOUT help from apple.. this would mean that the FBI really wants the power instead of this specific information..

Hasn't Apple already unlocked 70 phones that the authorities had requested access to? Cook is full of it.

these were older phones, iphone 5s, older software, different security and privacy protections, didn't require changing the software to unlock. These did not use the passcode key protection. For their latest iphones, the requirement to create brand new software to bypass the passcode protection will affect 100% of iphones that use the software. Not just this one phone.
