In this weekly video news update for April 9 - 15, 2012, JBS CEO Art Thompson discusses who and what RT (Russia Today) television is. He also provides a warning to all Ron Paul supporters to be suspicious of this new source of world news.

Wikipedia: RT / Russia Today:

RT, previously known as Russia Today, is a government-funded global multilingual television news network based in the Russian Federation. It was founded in 2005 as Russia Today by the government-owned RIA Novosti.

Russian International News Agency (RIA Novosti) is a Russian state-owned news agency based in the capital Moscow.

All corporate news agencies are propaganda outlets. Just pick and choose what's accurate. The pro-American regime propaganda US outlets pump into other countries puts RT to shame.

RT is propaganda, but they're much better than most of the western news sources. They give a very diverse range of opinions and can report on the American regime's crimes

If you can read/understand spoken Russian, their regular news is better than western news too. (you have to avoid state sponsored stuff, of course. I'm fond of Эхо Москвы at the moment)

Hadn't seen this, thanks.

Great Ron Paul speech, he seems very much at ease and at home and the crowd is very warm.

Yeah, he's really preaching to the choir there. The Birchers are probably most completely in line with his anti-globalist, anti-banker, anti-interventionist beliefs more than any group other than the Von Mises Institute.

Ron Paul Supports the John Birch Society

While I trust Dr. Ron's judgement, I have to wonder why the Birchers would go through the trouble of going after a pretty good alternative news source like RT. I know they aren't above reproach but they're a damn sight better than the U.S. MSM and they disseminate a lot of truth; our media, only lies.

Birchers are leery of the Russians and their motives for promoting Ron Paul and similar voices. I don't blame them, but I think most Ron Paul people understand what RT is all about

+1 The influence of Faux News is a helluva lot scarier than RT.

What is this nonsense the guy is spewing about Cuba and America?? What is so wrong with returning to a policy of free trade and peace?

The Birchers are doing their job. Keeping us aware of possible snakes. That is all.

Just watch RT and if it starts to suck, stop watching. Glenn Beck's Fox program was actually pretty good when it started but turned to crap sometime around Fall '09 and I stopped watching

RT is propaganda but so is MSNBC, FOX etc. Every major news outlet is usually pushing some sort of hidden agenda or just parroting the government line. It's best to get your news from multiple sources and compare and contrast the information to find out what the truth is.

Report: Russian Spy Anna Chapman Came Close to Ensnaring Obama Cabinet Official

The Blaze
April 3, 2012

Anna Chapman, one of the Russian spies arrested in 2010, is said to be a minimal national security threat. The New York Times reported that the she traded in “routine political gossip and policy talk,” and passed along her messages over the Internet for the world (and the FBI) to see.

However, new reports suggest she may have been more adept than we gave her credit for. In fact, she even coming close to ensnaring a member of Obama’s cabinet.

Though the potentially susceptible official remains unnamed, the assistant FBI director for counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi is now saying she was,”close enough [to the administration's inner-circle] to disturb [the FBI].” More specifically, he said, “They were getting close enough to a sitting U.S. cabinet member that we thought we could no longer allow this to continue.”

2010 - Why the Rush to Send Russian Agents Back?

All the governments that can afford it spy on each other. This is not new or surprising. (governments are criminal gangs writ large, after all) A few US spies have been caught, but they happen to be better than most.

I came into the thread wanting to be on the defensive. After watching, I 100% agree with the video. Most Ron Paul supporters do fact check the news, regardless of the outlet, so I am not overly concerned. However, those of us who aren't aware of the strategies of Leon Trotsky might not recognize the potential for diversion.

That being said, I don't trust RT, mainly because I don't take anyone for their word when it comes to reporting. However, I am glad that we do get some interviews and reporting that have been factual. In our position, we have to sometimes take what we can get.
