Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he might challenge Hillary Clinton for the party’s nomination in 2016.

“Yes,” Biden said, laughing, when asked if there’s a chance that he’d challenge Clinton.

“There’s a chance, but I haven’t made my mind up about that, we’ve got a lot of work to do between now and then. There’s plenty of time,” Biden said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Biden said Clinton, who leads early polls of Democrats by double digits, is “really competent capable person and a friend.”

He added that he doesn’t think a decision on a bid needs to be made “until the summer,” noting that the race is “wide open on both sides” and repeated that his focus right now is his duties at vice president.

I don't see why not. I mean, he is the Vice President and a lot of folks on the liberal side seem to like him and he seems a bit more outspoken on things than Obama does. Sometimes that ends up dragging Obama's opinion out with it, like the gay marriage debate- but for the most part, Biden seems to be liked. Maybe not the extent of a future 2016 Hillary Clinton run, but I wouldn't be surprised if he threw his hat into the wing. It'd be dull if Clinton was the only one running, should she run.
