I believe that raising kids is much harder than working a nine-five; I also believe that a mom is best when she can be home most of the time.

I am not in favor of state welfare but I believe that at this stage of the game, this is a good thing for the kids. They will have a better chance of growing up into responsible people than of being ghetto rats.

I know some welfare moms and none of them started out wanting to have tons of kids and live off of the state- they just want to feed their kids. Also- once on the dole, it is extremely hard to get off. I have seen moms threatened with the taking of their kids etc if they tried.

For you men that are calling welfare moms "whores" and "breeders", please assure me that you have never had illicit sex with any woman- ever- and that you know of an absolute surety that you have no bastard child somewhere. It takes two to make a baby and men are as much to blame.

These kids need a chance and they have one- I say bravo!

I absolutely agree that this should be taken care of locally and that Fed welfare is a sham. HOWEVER- that ain't the way it is played at the moment. If you want change, then do something about it.

Serviceable? It's a 3/4 of a million dollar home. I don't know where you live, but around here we just about call that a mansion and you need to be very well off to own it. Average home price here is $150k or so.
