General Jill Stein, Green Party Candidate -- More Socialist Than Barack Obama

I disagree. Her economic policies will ruin any benefits from her foreign policy. Adding more bs regulations is just going to make it more difficult for people to get jobs a prosper. Same goes with raising the minimum wage which I believe she wants to do. She clearly does not understand that that would make it more difficult for people to find jobs and will just end up with more unemployment benefits and food stamps, etc.

The way I see it is that military spending is a double-drain if not a triple/quadruple+ drain on our economy. You have intelligent people building weapons systems that end up being destroyed and have absolutely zero value for society. Not to mention they may be murdering innocent people overseas in the process. Those people would be much better off in the goods producing sector, and the money would be better spent by the individuals who paid taxes on it. Then you have all of the military overseas who get paid and spend much of that money overseas instead of in our own economy. Whereas when you give out welfare, the person collecting it is at least spending it here and they are more than likely going to be less productive than an engineer or a soldier would be here at home.

Then as far as building green technology, once again, they might not be making the best economic decisions but it would be better to spend $10 billion on green technology than on a weapon that is going to just be blown up. That will at least reduce the cost of energy for everybody, even if it is at a net loss, as compared to building and deploying weapons increases the cost of energy.

Of course it does, but everything else equal it is a far superior option to spend money on social programs than to spend it on military adventurism.

The problem with socialism is that it's completely antagonistic to human nature and natural selection. Socialism lasts about as long as democracy, probably because it's more or less the same thing.

Socialism sucks dude, seriously.

Yes, it does, and it isn't sustainable. No argument there. But honestly, the fallout from the Educational Industrial Complex is likely to be more palatable than the aftermath of the Military version.

Probably better than Obama. She wouldn't get my vote, but I try to sway Obama supporters by convincing them that Jill Stein actually represents their goals and Obama only serves to enrich entrenched interests. Work in a few examples from MIC, Wall St, Health Insurance Cos., etc. and you might just actually get someone to engage their brain.

Because really... a vote for Stein = a vote for Johnson or RP write-in, in the sense that it is a rejection of the status quo. At this point, that's all that matters.

Sure, socialism is bad. If I had a choice between having a couple fingers chopped off and my whole hand, I'm going to take the fingers.

Free college? I could live with that ;P

There's no such thing as free. Plus the time and quality would be a lot worse than the free market. She's going in the exaxct wrong direction with education.

Sure give us all "free education". We can bring the whole system down by getting phd's. Let's help even more people become completely unproductive. Bye bye economy. We didn't need you anyways.

Jill Stein is what most Obama supporters think he is.

Every Socialist I've known have been anti-Fascist. For some reason Socialists and Communist flock to Obama.

Most of the Socialists I know are actually Fascists and just don't understand it. Not that there is actually the much of a difference between socialism and fascism.

I'm a Norway-style "socialist". I'm not really sure the word socialism has a solid meaning any more, but I really don't think Norway is a fascist state outside of NATO membership.

ETA:
Now, RoBomney? THAT's modern fascism. Drones and kill lists and gulags, oh my!

Because I like RP, and consider his libertarianism WAY better than rOBomney. I have much more in common with libertarians than I do with Obamabots.
Ron Paul is in the opposite direction of Socialism, however.

What the hell is a "Norway-style socialist?"

I like the way Norway runs their society. Some call all that stuff "socialism". (scare quotes because I'm not sure the word "socialist" has anything close to a solid meaning any more.)

I don't know anything about Norway, but I studied abroad in Sweden (studied the welfare state actually.) Do you know how similar they are? Most of Scandinavia are similar, but I don't know to what extent in this arena.
