Jesse Ventura says Ron Paul has Officially dropped out of the race....

How to lose readership of 95% of those interested in the topic :

All you Jesse Ventura haters are idiots.

Ventura is in a competitive market. I will give effort to one nominee this year (or Independent...) and it won't be Ventura. He offers NOTHING more then Bob Barr, who is much more well-known and connected within congress. It'd be foolish to throw scarce resources at Ventura.

although i agree with you, he should've started his point with another phrase but,

Ventura is our ally, and you guys are dissing him pretty hard here. When objective threads like this turn sour, that makes me think that the RP revolution isn't all that serious about actually taking the country back.

Ventura could prove to be a very powerful ally,a nd to be honest.. i will work my ass off for his campaign if he runs.

He's the closest thing to ron paul with a pretty good chance at actually winning. Sure you may not 100% agree with him on every issue, and maybe you strongly disagree with him on a couple of issues. Fact remains, he still stands for freedom and is open for debate... Ventura's a very open minded politician who is used to trying to work with both Dems and Reps tugging at his policies.

He knows his shit, and we need him.

Besides... he's a Navy Seal with demolitions experience who says there's no way the 2 planes on 911 could've taken out 3 buildings...

I'm amazed at the hostility of some RPF members towards Ventura. He's our fucking ally!!!!

Bob who? LOL. See my point? Good luck with that....
Yeah that's what we want... more people in governement who are connected with the governement. That's a wonderful recipe for real change..... NOT.

Jesse is not running for president, nor is he going to. It was a publicity tactic to raise awareness for his book. The reality is that he might run for senate against Norm Coleman in Minnesota. HE doesn't like Norm Coleman, and he has much pride for the state he hails from.

By the way, he did not take any money up front for that book, which is the norm in the publishing busineess. He has several best sellers, and has stated he doesn't ever have to work again. Why did he put this book out? Because he wants to change our country for the better and restore our freedoms.

But yeah... he's just a self-serving scumbag... who the people of Minnesota adore. We love scumbags here.

FOOLS.

Very Well said man!!!

I didn't have a clue who Ventura was before he was brought up earlier. So my point's proven ;).

You still haven't given reason as to why anyone should support Ventura when Barr is competing. Taking no profit on book sales isn't a reason...

I'm liking Ventura less and less.

There's this today, then yesterday I saw a Youtube of him supporting the elimination of the electoral college.

Anyone have his email?

Ventura has proven that he c an win as an indpendant, and got a VERY HIGH approval rating as an independant. And he's more than willing to run on ron pauls platform, or even with ron paul.

This election is a little different than the 50's and 60's (barr would've had a chance then)... we have to get media sheople to vote. The media sheople are treating this like fucking American Idol, and i dont like it any more than you do, but media sheople will tend to vote for Obama or Hillary due to their celebrity status.

Ventura has big time celebrity status, i never watched wrestling, and never really paid much attention to politics until recently, and i've known of him for years.

He has never let the strings of either party influence him, he's always forced them to work with him as opposed to the opposite.

what more reason do you need?

Bob barr is boring, im sorry but he's so bland. I love his policies, he's a great candidate on paper, but i do not beleive he will get any more than 15% in the general.. .i'd be surprised if he could even pull that off.

In my opinion, if we want to ACTUALLY win this thing... Ventura should be considered, and you should perhaps read his book before being so judgmental.

Proven how? What's the number for "VERY HIGH"? Does he have over 40% national name recognition?

He needs to run under a party if he's serious, or else he'll never make it on state ballots this late. With no party willing to accept him that has ballot access, he has no chance.

Why would "sheople" vote for Ventura over Barr?

Jesse sounds retarded and his stance on "attacking the demand side" of drugs is a big turn off. Yup, Jesse sure sounds like a Reform Party guy with his whacky ideas on reform. How about solving the problem, jackass?

Jesse Ventura: for when you care more about running for president than you do about winning in Congress.

Good enough reason for me not to support him if he runs for president. I'm tired of having liars in the White House.

WTF? I liked Ventura but he is ignorant and ill informed on Ron Paul drooping out! I plan to vote or write in PAUL 2008! Ron Paul has said even as recent as a week ago on FOX that he is in it to the end, HE HAS NOT DROOPED OUT PEOPLE! WE STILL HAVE A CHOICE!

Care for both.

The fight for liberty isn't an easy one... your gonna have to put some extra effort in if you want your country to win.

We all know how much respect the president has for congress, and he seems to be disconnecting himself from the power of congress all the time.

We need to get Freedom Candidates in every office we possibly can, not just congress.

If jesse ventura is willing to fight for the presidency on a fairly libretarian platform, dont you think we should support him even if you dont agree with him as much as bob barr? Mark my words... Bob Barr has absolutely NO shot at actually winning... none notta, will never happen... sorry.

Dont judge him on that... he's misinformed... someone gave him bad information.

It's not his fault, we need to inform him so he can help our cause, not bitch about him being crazy for having 1 dam policy you dont agree with. (not talking about you DAFTEK)

America needs to wake up, and evidently a lot ron paul supporters are still fairly tired.

yeah Ventura probably just believed the MSM crap about Paul dropping out, he has praised Paul in past interviews. Also, his positions are very very libertarian and he is def. not a CFR shill like all MSM candidates.

I can't believe I'm smarter than a former gov

Ummm... noo... - No, I don't. Isn't Barr fighting for presidency on a "fairly libertarian platform"?

What many on here are doing are playing a rather pathetic game of semantics at this point. So, Ron never verbally said that "he dropped out". He did say, however, that "victory isn't possible in the conventional sense" and is not actively seeking the nomination at all, at this point. In the end, nothing Jesse said is incorrect at this point. I don't know why it is so hard to accept the truth, anymore. Then, I see comments like Jesse can "get Fucked" ... "Jesse can blow me", etc. The posters of today come across like a bunch of adolescents. For all intents and purposes, John McCain will be the Republican nominee. Like it or not. The time has come to accept it, and then decide what is going to be done in the General Election about it. Whether it be voting Constitution/Libertarian Party, not voting at all, writing in Ron's name, or any other option. The time has long past in accepting that Ron isn't getting the GOP nomination.
