Jesse Benton on David Adams

The whole kerfluffle is totally inconsequential to the larger machinations. This is just something for all of us to narcissistically bloviate about for a 24hr news cycle segment like what we think has any bearing on what actually happens.

Exactly.

This doesn't matter. In that truth, though, lies a good question and a good lesson --- why say something if there is no reason for the statement? Why say something that does not matter? Either Benton is playing-out some grand design and is a jerk, or he's just in over his head and doesn't know what he's doing.

You honestly think Rand didn't okay that quote?

Benton no longer works for Rand. He works for Mitch McConnel. David Adams has been openly looking for someone to challenge Mtich McConnel. No. I do not believe Benton's former boss(es) okayed the quote. I think he made it on his own.

Neither Benton nor Adams work for Rand anymore, and McConnell has been more supportive toward Rand, so I can't say i really care about all their inside baseball and sniping.

If anything, it's a distraction.
McConnell endorsed Rand's primary opponent. Regardless of how supportive he is right now, doesn't mean he won't endorse another establishment pick against Rand the next time he's up for election.

To be fair, McConnell didn't even know Rand at the time, nobody knew anything about him other than that he was Ron Paul's son. Since then, Mitch and Rand have spent a lot of time together and established an actual personal and working relationship. AND Rand just endorsed Mitch for 2014. I think it is probably a bit TOO cynical, even given that we're talking about a Class-One RINO, to imagine that McConnell is such a total snake that he's going to do something like endorse a primary challenger to Rand in 2016. I think that's REALLY far fetched, honestly.
