Beware---the Bushes fail upwards. GHWB gets soundly beaten by Reagan, his milquetoast approach soundly repudiated, yet he becomes VP out of nowhere, and controls the Reagan years.
His son GWB loses New Hampshire to McCain in 2000, and in response, the party mega donors double down in providing him financial support.
So, Jeb has been in the single digits for six months, finishes sixth in IA, spends tens of millions just to barely escape finishing fifth in NH, but, the media declares him reinvigorated, and that he's gotten his second wind! Here we go again...
