“If Mitt wins Arizona and Michigan at the end of February and runs with the vast majority of delegates on March 6th, I still think he could end it early.

“If there's a mixed bag, if he loses Michigan or Arizona and he wins one or two [on March 6th] and the other states are spread around you might just as well get into a convention where nobody has a majority of delegates.

“And then you might see the possibility of two of the four candidates making a deal, a ticket, things of that nature. It starts getting exciting.” If no deal could be struck then a dark horse could step in on a second ballot, when delegates pledged to candidates would be free to vote as they wished.

“That’s when you start thinking of a Jeb Bush or someone like that could maybe come in as a possible alternative,” said Mr Cardenas, who also hails from Florida.

Has he lost his mind? And, OMG. Another Bush? Is this possible? Will we have enough delegates to stop something like this from happening?

It's a possibility, but if they brought someone in that had not even been a candidate, I am pretty sure it would require martial law.

I doesn't matter. Like any other RINO, Jeb won't win the general election without the Paul vote.

The optimist in me says there's no freaking chance Republicans (let alone the general electorate) would possibly go for another Bush.

The realist in me says they're probably just stupid enough to prove me wrong.

These are the following names that are being floated as outside candidates if it comes down to brokered convention: Jeb Bush, Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels and yes Chris Christie (even though he is endorsing Mittens right now). Also there is a push for Allen West and Rubio still going on. Just figure you've been pre-warned.

That's how I feel. I wanted to laugh and immediately discount it then I remembered the SC booing and the apparent short term memory/lack of concern re: the ethics of candidates when it comes to voting. This is bugging me because months ago my husband mentioned reading something about the GOP finding a way to get Jeb Bush on the ticket and I laughed. Now, not so much.

I doubt he could win the general without some major diebold tampering but that doesn't mean they wouldn't try to get him on the ticket anyway. Newt and Santorum could never win the general, either (imo) yet people are voting for them.

Marketed the right way this could very well prompt democrats to vote for Paul in much higher numbers in the primaries if they realized that the Paul delegates would be the only thing stopping another Bush from potentially being on the general election ticket.

My comment below the article, pending moderation:

Oh, come on....get real. I wouldn't vote for another Bush if my life depended on it. How stupid can these jokers be? The ONLY candidate I'll be voting for in 2012 is Ron Paul, even if I have to write him in.

The only non Paul candidate I can see even remotely accepting in a brokered convention would be DeMint, and even that I'm a bit wary of.

GW brought us the Patriot Act. I wonder what JB would bring us? Hmmmm........ Scary thoughts went through my mind.

NEVER HAPPEN..if it does and our worst nightmares happen...riots in the streets I predict.

Yeah this is one of those sitcom situations where the idea gets thrown out there and everyone laughs at first, slowly trailing off into blank faces at the realization that its an actual possibility.

...actual possibility?
1) Elder Bush was ass-deep in the Iran-Contra scandal and still managed to be elected Pres.
2) Elder Bush is (was as of a few years ago) the only former President still requesting daily briefings from the CIA.
3) Elder Bush is also former head of the CIA.
4) Elder Bush's dad was a powerful Senator who made money from (and got in trouble for) doing business with Hitler.

From 2005:
Senior Bush plugs Jeb for president 'someday'

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush would be "awfully good" in the job of president, but the timing isn't right, his father and former President George H.W. Bush told CNN Tuesday.

Asked if he would want Jeb to run, Bush said, "Someday I would, yes...."

Don't be afraid, Jeb is the "kinder-gentler" 3rd generation Bush brother. ;)
