Jack Hunter Resigns

Yep, it helps one adjust their perspective though.

Sad to see him have to step down. I like him. Fuck the media.

Perhaps he could have weathered the establishment media's storm if he had the full support of the people he tried to run out of the liberty movement because he said they had 'controversial beliefs', don't ya think?

No not really. Y'all can't convince the establishment about 911 or chem trails. Lincoln is way out of your league :p

Jack Hunter was tempted by being close to power. He set Jesse Benton as his role model, rather than Ron Paul, now what?

The usual sh**-for-brains analysis one has come to expect from EPJ, especially when it relates in any way, shape or form with Rand Paul.

As if Hunter emulating Ron Paul more would somehow make this Confederate non-issue story go away. Maybe Hunter could have sent some newsletters out under his name to help. Oh, and done this:

Seems Hunter did too much like Ron Paul...

This has literally no negative repercussions at all . What good did Jack Hunter do? His following outside of hardcore libertarian circles was not exactly exploding -- even in the DC it was clear to readers that he was a "Ron Paul Republican."

If it saves Rand from being torpedoed with Jack's baggage, this is all upside.

This is not on Hunter. He wrote that stuff when he was young, not realizing that there was a path to the political world in his future. This is on Rand, who really should know about vetting his staff better than is father did.

I take issue with you describing Jack Hunter as a libertarian. Someone willing to endorse Mitt Romney for president is no libertarian at all. And his stance on social issues was probably hardcore socially-conservative.

Oh good, you picked something important to argue about.

Oh bullshit. He didn't care what damn BELIEFS you had. What he asked is that you DON'T ATTACH THEM TO OUR CANDIDATES!! Surely, you can distinguish the difference between those two concepts, no?

No true Scotsman!

There really is no perfect person. Add on top of that, someone with the skills that Jack Hunter has, not to mention the truthworthiness. I don't think people realize how very much he did and how much he has helped Rand frame his message so that mainstream Republicans could really hear it.

I consider Jack Hunter to be more of a Paleocon; a true conservative and they most certainly share a number of libertarian principles with libertarians. It's a good thing too, because libertarians alone couldn't win a race for dogcatcher, much less a national position.

I was only familiar with Jack's modern Youtube articles, so I never knew about his "wrestling" past. I guess the moniker of "Southern Avenger" makes more sense after seeing him with that mask on.

Youthful goofiness is usually overlooked or forgotten, just ask President Choom. It's certainly is no basis for guilt by association attacks on other people.

So now we're left with just two paleocons in the MSM backwater. Patrick J. Buchanan and Mike Church. Church needs his own TV show. He would be perfect for the Blaze but I suspect Beck wouldn't like to be upstaged.

Wenzel was referring to Jack Hunter's political maneuvering and power-seeking along with his attempted disowning of his political beliefs when the heat came down on him. Ron defended peace and states rights consistently and didn't run from his views for political expediency, Jack didn't. Ron never threw liberty supporters under the bus to appease the establishment, Jack did. It seems like Wenzel's points went right over your head.

He went way further than that, and you know it.

Is it just me or does Mike Church have next to zero presence on social media? Where's his youtube presence?

Does Jack still have any, or did he delete any accounts on YouTube he may have had as well? The only one I found has 11,000 subscribers, which is pretty small considering his positions and history in politics recently. Ben Swann has 30,000+...

Maybe Rand should look at hiring Ben Swann? Didn't think about it until just now really...

Working for a politician is essentially public relations. It would severely limit honest reporting. ;)
