It's Over.

It was real, in his mind. The reality of what he perceived, such as the angels on his shoulder is no doubt in question. I doubt his physical body went anywhere.

Unfortunately for sufferers of schizophrenia their various delusions are very real to them too - but have no basis in reality.

Hallucinogens are not just about seeing bright shiny colors moving around, many believe it helps open a spiritual gateway. Jordan Maxwell had a great discussion on this in one of his lectures.

I don't claim that shrooms open a spiritual gateway, however I have had what I perceived to be many spiritual experiences that were directly caused by the trip.

It is said that the body has 7 shakra points, and so does the earth. Both of these are based on the vibration of the earth. If mushrooms can alter your bodily vibrations in such a way that allows more access to your spiritual shakra located on the top of your head, then perhaps there is some science behind spirituality after all. I wouldn't know where to begin to prove or disprove any of these things, but it's fun to think about.

Or perhaps they do have a basis in reality that we cannot perceive. Or maybe they only have a partial basis in reality that we cannot perceive. Who knows?

You should checkout a film called "The Ether", it's like an 8 part series on youtube.

I guess the point is that once you learn that you are not able to perceive all of reality, it is really difficult to claim exactly what reality is.

Maybe there is a invisible elephant with 12 legs, I'm not going to claim it let alone kill anybody over it... but I'm not going to waste my life trying to prove that it doesn't exist.

I knew I had you pegged right when I said you were someone who'se mind is too open to make sense or reason properly. :)

"It is said that the body has 7 shakra points" - by who? Primitives that lived a long time ago before any such idea could be sanely construed!

It was also said God created the heavens and the earth... by primitive folk who knew nothing except there was a sun in the sky and a few stars and stuff, once again!

Therfore there is no reason even consider for ONE moment that any of this is anything except a load of nonsense.

You're linking a lot of nonsense together to come up with your own ideas of yet more nonsense by linking drugs to chakra's on our heads etc!

Many idiots claim today they can 'heal' people, 'speak to dead people'.... people claim a lot of weird sh**. It makes them feel good and often it gives them power over others or lines their pockets with money.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT IT!

If you ENJOY indulging in it - fine - but please please please don't try to tell the sober ones like me that it's all very possible and anything goes..........! :)

No atheists claim that there is nothing that exists beyond what we perceive... where do you get this junk from?

Look, I'll make this really easy for you...

We atheists are most likely agnostic atheists. We do not believe in any version of god that been explained.. most of us accept some form of monism, or universal harmony, or some other nonsense, just because the science does not exist to refute it.

We would prefer not to be labeled, because we are not defined by our lack of beliefs.

We exist in all political spectrums, we have no particular set of rules or governing beliefs... we simply share a lack of belief.

Nobody believes in Thor anymore... does that make all people who lack a belief in Thor, the Athorist, fervent believers in anything?!

It makes no sense... Come on people... open your eyes.

Well, Kade, there would be the distinction between heathens and pagans for starters, the former being believers in personified gods, the latter being pantheists.

What I'm getting at is that the concepts are pretty old and did not show any tendency to just fade away so far.

Concerning the soul, the primitive Plotinus derived from the process of erection that the soul must be somehow related to the chemicals in your blood. Have we gone any farther since? No. The truth is that we don't understand a lot of things in the classic writings because we lack culture. Plotinus explicitly states that the soul would have the form of a physical law governing the matter of your body. Now compare that with the people who monitor electric activity in the brain. By God, it's the same thing and we have not made an inch of progress in so far the nature of the phenomenon of consciousness is concerned.

If you monitor your erection or your brain activity, you see, it makes no difference.

So, stop discounting the primitives. You are not cultivated, you only think so.

Consciousness is an interesting topic indeed, also- how did carbon self-animate - create software code genomes? How did we develop written languages? Institutional memory? How did we develop the knowledge to leave this planet?

Is it possible for apes to eventually develop these characteristics too? Are the switches laden in their genome?

Are we a fluke? Or designed for a purpose?

Like douglas adam suggest, we are just part of a big organic computer that is to one day spit out the meaning to "Life, the universe, and everything"

Then why are you so bent on claiming Christianity is false?

Because I've read the nonsense which the Bible contains, and seen so much evidence against it, which gives me the result of Christianity being false, along with many other religions. I know I should've stated that what I meant with that claim was exactly this consciousness stuff that you are talking about. If there is somekind of a spiritual realm, if there is telepathic abilities.
What I'm talking about is kind of condensed in the end of Esoteric Agenda. Jordan Maxwell also talks about that "divine force in the universe which men have called god". So far we know so little to make any final judgements.

Then maybe you should just stop trying to convert the unwilling from a place of faith to a place of denial.

Religious Hatred of the Darwinists

+1

By the way, it's interesting how this thread has evolved from the silly, stupid notion that because E. coli can now metabolize citrate, it destroys creationism to a debate on the existence of God. You God-haters just can't help spreading your religion of doubt upon others, can you? Isn't it enough that your religion is tax-supported and taught in our public schools? You all are just as zealous about your faith in the nonexistence of God as we Christians are about His existence, and when your Darwinian superstition is attacked, you come to its defense like the religious fanatics you are. Hitler and Stalin would both be proud of you. ;)

The computer was to determine the ultimate question to which the answer is 42. 7*6?

"It is said that the body has 7 shakra points" - by who? Primitives that lived a long time ago before any such idea could be sanely construed!

Well since then we have found out the 7 shakra points on earth and found that they can be calculated mathematically based on the poles and the frequency of the earth. So heck, I figure maybe there is something to this. MAYBE. Checkout Esoteric Agenda. They get into this stuff. Have you seen "The Ether" yet? You keep saying I am wrong after I have you don't have any clue as to what I'm talking about. I can't make a post that takes 2 hours to read, you'd never get through it. On top of that.....

I knew I had you pegged right when I said you were someone who'se mind is too open to make sense or reason properly.

...Yet after 18 pages I am the only one to disprove the premise of the OP??? That doesn't make any sense. (See post #173 & #175)

You're linking a lot of nonsense together to come up with your own ideas of yet more nonsense by linking drugs to chakra's on our heads etc!

These are not all my own ideas, they just fit together based on the evidence I have observed and the hundreds of hours I have spent watching or studying various concepts on spirituality.

You still haven't seen The Ether, have you? All of this can be logically explained. Not proven, or disproven, but explained.

I didn't say anything goes, I said we don't know anything for sure that cannot be perceived.

That can't be it, the moment you get both the question and the answer, the universe resets. As far as I can tell, no one in this thread has reset the universe.

I have several times. It is pointless and a futile exercise of my brain.

LSD can sometimes give you this feeling that you've got everything figured out. I mean everything. Some people say that this is "connecting" with the rest of the universe all at once, but I don't know. Some people have said that DMT is the hallucinogen that does this the best, but I have never tried it. People either say that you are connecting with god or the universe or "the other side" or whatever. I'm curious about what DMT is all about.
