I thought all the caucuses were completed yesterday.

Why the information blackout?

Because, they don't want news of RP beating McCain to circulate before super Tuesday.

Maine Election Results Tonight: Maine “Super Caucuses” Did Not feel like Reporting!

Maine Election Results Tonight: Maine “Super Caucuses” Did Not feel like they HAD to REPORT the votes because showing was insignificant!

By Highland Mediaworks | February 4, 2008

I called the Maine GOP headquarters and talked to the person counting the votes …as a concerned citizen….about what the holdup is on releasing the final 90% weekend caucus goers results. She said that Super caucuses on Saturday…the “Super Caucuses” are mini-town caucuses…. did not think it was worth reporting their results, because the turnout was so small. (Even though this is a Presidential Caucus where every vote should count)! So, today, Monday, she is calling each caucus and requiring them to report the votes so she can announce the 90% of caucusing that has been completed to date. The other 10% is not caucusing until March, so 90% will be the final count before Super Tuesday. She said that she will have the votes re-calculated by this evening for reporting…if all goes well. She also said the press was badgering her about the results!

Then I called the RP headquarters in Maine, and they said that it was good information for Dr. Paul because the “Super Caucuses” were supposed to be heavily Ron Paul and they did not realized that those tallies were not included on the Sat. night 68% results! Then they said that the Sunday Caucus turnout was mostly for McCain.

They don't want people to hear about a strong RP finish before tomorrow, and it takes time to rig the vote and think of last minute bullshit rule changes to screw us out of delegates.

Alright i think i can clear up some confusion. From our meetup group they think they know why it is only 72% reporting. First, there are still a couple towns that have yet to caucus. These are in the middle of the month. Now where did the other 25% go? Well from what i have heard some of the very small towns that were going to caucus did not have anybody show up. There was one here in our county that nobody showed up for. how many more are out there i dont know. But im sure these towns count for the majority of the % that are missing.

only a few showed up...and they thought that it was insignificant...so they didn't even report...those were heavily Ron Paul areas...and Christy McNeely with the Maine GOP, said she was having to call each caucus and require them to report...either way, who told caucuses they didn't have to report?? More importantly, why did a large pool of people in different areas decide the same thing? It should have been only isolated incidences, not 15% of the entire vote!

It seems they would have a procedure to handle this. Maybe they didn't hear of the invention of the number "0" in the middle ages. If no one showed up - write a zero, and pass it along, rather than choosing to do nothing.

Easy to take over

Man, we will OWN the 2012 election, with 4 more years to get organized.... If only Ron Paul were a little younger....

No doubt, this is what I was thinking. They had a scheduled caucus, and there were 0 votes for everyone, so report it as 0 votes and move on so we can have the final results. I say it's a bunch of BS.

I can't believe we've had a system of voting in this country for how many years, and yet it is this F'ed up. I'm not buying it.

they dont want to release results until after super tuesday b/c ron paul did too well.

It amazes me when small states with only a handful of voters can't count 600 ballots over a 4 day period.

Be Vigilant on "Super Wednesday!"

Actually it is 15% of the vote that was not reported from these "Super Caucuses"...mainly northern mini-caucuses that were very favorable to Ron Paul. The 200 votes that came in today was from the Sunday Caucusing and they were from the south and they favored McCain. The problem still exists that the "Super Caucuses" leaders did not think the ballots that they received were significant enough to report, so they did not call them in to Christy McNeely with the Maine GOP. When I spoke with her, she said that they had not called in and she was having to call and hand count the votes (which sounded very confusing), but she would have a 90% return by the afternoon...by the afternoon there was only a 75% return, so obviously the reporting was for the Sunday caucuses....which were easily returned and in favor of McCain. Then the difficult caucuses were still left out, which made Dr. Paul drop to 18% before Super Tuesday, instead of having the fullest return possible.

I am not saying there is a conspiracy at the GOP headquarters, but I am saying that, again, the votes were not fully counted and Dr. Paul again was the candidate that suffered as a result. On Wednesday...if any of your counties are not reporting within a reasonable amount of time...usually an hour or two after the polls close...BE VIGILANT and use your voice as a concerned citizen to help guard Dr. Paul's precious ballots of liberty.

I'd support Rand Paul in 2012. He's an excellent speaker, and it seems he fully supports Ron Paul's platform.
