It safe to drink tap water or rain water ?

I grew up near a lake and it was NEVER because of the rain. It was because of manufacturing plants dumping chemicals (sometimes changing the pH), heavy metals (sometimes make their way up the food chain), people shitting in the water, changes in the environment, invasive species, etc. I did research on Lake Erie's heavy metal levels near various manufacturing plants, interesting stuff. One regulation that I am for is for regulating what various companies can dump into lakes/oceans, and protecting against invasive species, like zebra mussels.

RO is a great method to purify water if you want to remove small molecules/elements like fluoride or chlorine. If you have water that's clogged up with vermin and other crap, you're going to be replacing the filter a lot.
Privatization of waterways/oceans FTW! :D

Yeah...lots of common sense--like if all the water falling out of the sky is radioactive, contaminated with all sorts of microscopic vermin, evil chemicals, vaccines, pharmaceuticals and chemtrails--it would make sense that every damn thing that uses this water is also contaminated. You might stand a chance with well water since it is a filtration system of sorts...but even then, the Bilderbergers? Rothschilds? Masons?

Any cow chewing on wet grass is ingesting it--CONTAMINATED! Your dog sits on the wet ground, then licks his balls--OMG! How is it that he didn't drop over dead? How do children splash in rain puddles without their raingear dissolving?

You destroy your own credibility by going to such ridiculous extremes. You freak out over rainwater just as handily as you freak out over a vaccine...nobody's trying to kill you, I'd bet money on it.

Donnay, I've tried, but you are a brick wall--if it's raining outside, do you cower inside? Do you rinse your dog off in RO water after a rainstorm? Do you test foods you've grown for radioactivity after it's rained? You are the Chicken Little of this forum, and you might want to try a little common sense as you suggested. Life is a risk, rainwater is one of the smallest risks you can come across to shorten said life.

Gee whiz Amy...I am sorry I am not as smart and unconcerned as you are. Now, I know why a college education is a waste of time. You go on and make your lemonade out of unfiltered rainwater, take your vaccines and your drugs. You're right you won't convince me of anything. If posting information to inform people makes me Chicken Little then so be it. A search engine is easy to use, really.

No proof of anything. And why are you now only focusing on radiation and Fukushima?

So, you use RO filtration on all milk, water and potables that enter your home? Or do you use a Geiger counter in order to figure out what to filter for certain types of radiation?

I might have a college degree, and you may hold that against me, however--I don't take any drugs aside from the occasional aspirin and have very rarely used any other type of pharmaceuticals. I am vaccinated, so is my daughter, and we are both healthy and do not exhibit any bizarre symptoms that anti-vaxxers go on about, but I will admit that you guys got me pretty freaked out when it came to making a decision on whether to vaccinate or not. I did and I don't regret it--she can play with her school-age cousins without me thinking that every bump on her was measles or mumps. And your pointing out my degree is merely a distraction rather than answering genuine questions.

So what do you do when you get hit with some rainwater? What about the animals/plants that consume it? You don't think that all that radiation works it's way up the food chain like heavy metals do? How in the hell do you live?

If it's in the atmosphere, it's in everything, and you can't avoid it. Get out your Geiger counter and show me some radioactive chickens and broccoli.

There is no silver bullet. But the concern is there and there are many precautions people can take, to reduce radiation exposure, of which I do. I think it is a responsibility that all of us should par take in. Cancers are going to rise-- it already is, this is a fact.

Antioxidants are one way to help reduce it and there are studies on this.

There are a lot of alternative approaches to take:

Nascent Iodine to protect the thyroid of radiation exposure.
Curcumin (the active ingredient in Turmeric) can protect the body tissue.
Reishi and Cordyceps mushrooms can protect the bone marrow.
HEPA filters in your home to protect you from radioactive dust particles.

There is more that can be added to list and a lot more to learn. Precautions to take is a step in the right direction, IMHO.

Oh and for the record: I have four children, two of which have never been vaccinated and are perfectly healthy, vibrant and full of life. I had only wished I knew the dangers with my first two children. My older two did a good detoxifying program and are on a good nutritional program. Prior to that they were having brain fog, joint problems and early aging issues--and I do not believe it was all from vaccines, but from and all around bad and unhealthy lifestyles and nutritional imbalances and dental problems. They had lots of mineral deficiencies--they have since corrected them. They also voted for Ron Paul, twice. I also have a beautiful grandchild who turned one, recently, who has never been vaccinated either. Oh and my dog is on a 1/2 Raw and 1/2 Organic diet. He is on a regiment Probiotics, Diatomaceous Earth and Lugols Iodine in his purified water too. The only vaccine he has had (because we are forced to) is rabies.

I wonder how much radiation sitting in front of the computer or other RPF-compatible advice all day causes....

Indeed--all the more reasons to take preventive steps to help you combat radiation.

Let's not forget cell phone radiation. I am sure lots of people talk with that cell pressed up against their heads too.

I know it's pointless--but how the hell do you feed/medicate yourself if you won't eat or drink anything that's touched rainwater?

Of course a child can be fully healthy without vaccines, I never disputed that, and I never implied that they'd be anything but vibrant and full of life, just like my vaccinated daughter--however, you have to keep them away from the general population and especially away from others who have not been vaccinated when the other children are around those who are higher risk for disease.

Would you take your grandchild to Africa or Asia and rely on her immune system alone? Be serious here. I went to Africa as a kid and got a full battery of vaccinations against deadly African diseases, and for good reason. If my parents had taken me and my brother there without it, that would have absolutely been neglect.

And your dog--he licks his own ass. He eats grass that contaminated rainwater has fallen on, he probably eats creepier things than that. Can we discuss reality?

Finally, you don't listen. I take things like gingko biloba, occasionally ginseng, milk thistle, ginger, garlic, various vitamins, etc. I hope it makes a difference, but I don't know for sure. You, on the other hand, seem to want to rip away any potential for pleasure in life by fearmongering incessantly about things that are such a small risk as to make it ridiculous. I will go outside on a warm rainy day and I will open my mouth and drink the rain water that falls from the sky, splash in puddles and not freak out if a plane flies overhead and leaves a trail behind it.

You are a fearmonger. That is your MO, and it is tiresome, especially when it's backed by almost nothing.

Shit, child, if you knew what I inhaled in the chem labs I've worked in.....oh, and I've worked in radioactive labs too. !!!!!

I don't wear a helmet if I ride a bike either...sometimes I don't buckle my seatbelt on short rides.

I've drank from mudpuddles, beaver ponds, and even a boat's bilge when they were the only water available, and I was thirsty. Now, keeping in mind that the occassional consumption of chemicals is rarely a problem unless you don't give your kidneys a chance to flush them and they build up on you. Also, some impurities have immediate toxic poison effects. However, in general, the biggest dangers in water come from biologically contaminated sources with too much bacterial or amoebic life in them. Those will cause you serious harm unless your immune system is capable of handling the infections. Mine is from long practice. I can eat salmonella and E. Coli infected whatever without much more than a case of the runs. Dysentery too is just a discomfort for me. I've been infected many times and never been bedridden.

All the same, In an emergency, I'd rather drink water contaminated with a few chemicals that my kidneys can flush, then biologically contaminated water that may leave me MORE dehydrated from diarrhea or vomiting.
