Fission weapons cost more to produce and they don't do as much destruction.

Cost more to produce per yield. You have to build a fission device just to detonate a fusion device!

It makes absolutely no sense to build a fission bomb with materials that you can use to build the modern "super" bomb because you can build significantly more "supers" for the same price.

Yeah, that's why we don't need to worry about dirty bombs. Duh!

The USA has a population size bigger than Russia

No they are heavier and harder to deliver and you can build more of the newer designs for the same price. None of Russia's stockpiles use the old fission designs. Otherwise they wouldn't have such large yields. We used to inspect their weapons and millions of people have defected to the west its not something we dont know.


The USA doesn't just have the most powerful military on paper. The USA has global force projection. Most countries have no logistics to do that.

Russia has logistics problems fighting a war on their own borders. They have been using mules to transport supplies.
