Your whole post is just that, but for the US instead of USSR.
The only refuge against tyranny is an armed populace. The rest of the world is not our concern, not even their nuclear ambitions. If we focused on our own affairs instead of foreign entanglements, as the Constitution demands, no country in the world would or could be any threat at all to us, no matter what weapons they tried to have. The only reason we are in so much danger today is precisely because we have departed from the Constitution. I don't owe a foreigner 2nd amendment protection, but neither should the USG be getting entangled in their affairs. If we were not getting into these entanglements, we wouldn't even have enemies. And in respect to anybody trying to challenge us, we would be so many light-years ahead of them technologically and economically that it would be a literal joke. Instead, we have China and Russia nipping at our heels. If they were ever to ally against us, it is not at all clear that we could even survive, let alone win. That's what we get for forsaking our Constitution and allowing a lawless, piratical regime to take over DC since WW1...
