- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

- A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

So, do we replace the government with robots?

Do you TRUST the robot programmers? ;)

Any "system" dependent on human reliability is inherently unreliable.

Kludge: Have been pondering, not sure what you are getting at (Action / Inaction?)... (Yes, I Ponder!)

Truth Warrior: As long as I am the programmer...

if it's open source... maybe...

As long as I am the programmer...

I hear that... I trust society, just as long as I'm living by myself...

perfect knowledge is necessary to determine whether a robot has allowed injury through inaction, makes it difficult with incomplete information.

Additionally, 'harm' is subjective, and opens up the 'universal moral equation' can of worms.

As awesome as Asimov and the robot series is, and as brilliantly as those laws are written, I'd stick with humans, so long as they are held accountable by an irate and tireless citizenry. Of course, that would require a lot less McDonalds and Prozac than we have now in this country.

Not who I had in mind. ;)

Hint: Starts win an "a" and ends with a rounded irrational number. :D

Yes TW, I knew you were insulting me, but thanks for spelling it out. I think you're a twit too, but didn't feel the need to spread the word at that point.

You started this round, AGAIN, AS ALWAYS. :p

There's something wrong with you, I was just trying to joke around with you as I'd really rather like you than consider you a jerk. Apparently you failed to recognize my attempt at such.

So, at this point, I still consider you a jerk who attempts to use thinly veiled insults to boost his own ego and assumes that none of us other idiots will get it, while ironically failing to recognize that you did not comprehend what I was getting at.

I was, for what it's worth, attempting to joke around with you because I consider other people in this "movement" or "lame attempt at something" to potentially be people I can both learn from and rely upon for wisdom and strength.

You completely missed that, and you are absolutely not a person I respect for their wisdom or knowledge. You seem to simply love to put other people down and I consider that merely a sign of low self-esteem, for what it's worth.

I'm sure that you'll have nothing but superficial bullshit when responding to this. If you know amazing things that are so fucking wonderful, why don't you try to share it rather than hit the *rolleye* emoticon because us ignoramuses don't know it? Bring it, bitch, tell me why I'm a moron for actually voting. Tell me why I'm a moron for still sticking around for so long after RP dropped out. Tell me why I'm an idiot for even attempting to get along with you.

I may just let you know, AFTER I've seen SOME evidence.

Kiss my ass, TWIT. :p  Who gives a shit about what you think that you think, about ANYTHING?

I have less than ZERO respect or interest for those that just love to pick fights and to dish it out but then just wimp and weenie butt out and can't take it when the time comes. If you want to play and take on the big boys, you're just gonna need to grow up some more first, little girl. ;) Don't come to a battle of wits, witless.

Take a Midol! :p
