More damage has been done to the integrity of the MSM, DC, and the entertainment industry in the last year than at any point I can remember. Gains were only being made by these institutions for at least the last 4 decades, probably more like 10+ decades. Now they are not.
Trump may be nothing, a pawn, a doofus, out of his element, in over his head, a huckster, a blind fool, , <insert other clever saying here>. Maybe he is one or all of those things, who knows. Some seem to know with 100% certainty who he is, although the conclusions people have tend to line up perfectly with the outcome they desire.
The point is, the pattern we are seeing is discernible enough for anyone to recognize. Whether or not it's Trump, white hats, coincidence, military, police, cultural changes, patriots, etc., it almost doesn't matter anymore who it is, but that it is. The MSM/DC/Entertainment cabal are enemies of liberty and they are falling, falling fast, and while they are falling, it seems some that like to call themselves libertarian would rather focus their attention permanently on Trump or the uniparty system that has brought us to the point we are currently at.
The current political parties are mostly irrelevant, the legislation that either Trump or some neocon GOP house/senate is mostly irrelevant, focusing on this whether pro-Trump or anti-Trump is a waste of time considering the authoritarian world we have which to work in. 2 degrees to the left here, 3 degrees to the right here, on and on. Regardless of who gets in power, there will be an increase of the power of government, and a reduction in our rights. If that's the focus of your attention, I guess have at it, but you are missing what is going on when diverting attention there.
What should be focused on is that, yes, these institutions are being damaged, and we don't know exactly how or by whom, but it should be cheered upon, not mocked, ridiculed, and lamented. They have done everything in their power to destroy libertarian movements, to destroy Ron Paul, to destroy his son, to destroy peace, to destroy us. You can call them neocons, neoliberals, leftists, the establishment, "they", republicans, democrats, conservatives, liberals, post modernists, socialists, communists, fascists, the NWO, the deep state, or the shadow government, it really doesn't matter, everyone has beef with at least one of these groups. The focus on Trump and uniparty buffoonery is not helpful and never has been. There will be a million more democrats or republicans to replace him once he is gone if the system continues as it has for centuries. If you want to ignore what's happening and instead continue focusing on only Trump, then your time may be better spent at local leftist hobby spots like Politico and Huffpost.
I'd like to think if you are hanging out here on these forums, you are cheering when the enemies of liberty are falling or being chipped away at. Sometimes I look through threads and question whether some people are here for the right reasons because some could care less when defeats of many of these institutions occur. Maybe you never were a libertarian and just found this site, thought you could have a few laughs, put some funny stuff into a few threads to liven the place up, troll certain people, rile up the locals, while having zero concern for the principles of liberty. It's sad to see that cheering victories against these institutions is often frowned upon, and is instead redirected into a hate filled fest of "because Trump." This thread perfectly demonstrates that. You may not have the vigor for Trump like the OP may have, good, but is there any point where you can nod your head and see that things are taking place? Maybe. Possibly not.
You can disagree with the OP all day with his views on Trump, but to ignore what's going on is looking increasingly more absurd as each day passes. Perhaps a couple of years ago I would have agreed you or with anyone that anything like what is happening right now could ever happen in my lifetime. Instead we are now at a crossroads entering what appears to be a new era, where you are seeing everyday people waking up to what is going on, and questioning government, even if it's Trump, questioning the role of government, questioning the media, etc. The fact that "normies" are waking up should be an indication of how obvious the shift really is, but if us libertarian folk are still having a hell of a time grasping what is going on, it's embarrassing to be quite frank. I would like to think we are more in tune with the implications in politics, since we actually enjoy taking the time to read and understand law, rules, and principles, at least morso than any other groups within the country. Maybe I am wrong and too overly optimistic for our little group of free market individualists here, or those that claim to be such.
I don't know how many more threads are going to have to continue down the same trajectory of some topic of discussion getting started, and then defaulting inevitably into "but Trump."

If Trump wanted peace he would either fire his cabinet that keeps warmongering or he would make them stop provoking the other countries. Obviously this is a con job, I bet you the left hand doesn't even know what the right hand is doing. He gave all of the authority to the military industrial complex and gets briefings of fake news. He probably finds out more about whats going on from the MSM. Trump projects to America that he is going to change course or at least try not to start a war with Russia, all the while he puts out the idea that some NATO proxy is going to start the war. I bet you thats whats happening, con Americans into it since they wouldn't agree to it otherwise.
