Is this a veiled warning by a Republican Party official?

Listen to this Youtube video from C-Span (about 3 minutes). The Republican guest almost seems to be insinuating that RP will not get the nomination and that we better accept it. Notice how he uses the word "debate" at the very mention of Ron Paul's name. Would he have used that word if someone had called about Romney or Huckabee?

He is making it clear that Ron Paul must first defeat his own party before worrying about any other campaign.

Well it's true that for the most part, the Republican party has been fighting RP instead of supporting him.

Considering how good he is at winning elections, you'd think the republicans would want a candidate that is actually electable vs a democrat?

All the Republicans have to do is nominate Ron Paul and then they will win.

The subsequent media coverage and press would ensure the message is carried to every single American and the confidence and credibility in Ron Paul would explode.

That's when the 'elite' will really worry, if he gets the nomination. Because that means presidency.

If they nominate anyone else, they lose.

It's that simple!

For years the Republican party has used the Clinton boogeyman to gain money & support. Now that Dr Paul is gaining both - without and in contrast - to their typical BS - they're running scared.

Why would I continue to support a party that isn't supporting Ron Paul? Screw this guy. We'll keep meeting in our churches and our gyms, but we will be doing it in the name of liberty and The Constitution, not the Republican neocon party. F this guy.

I think that he is exactly saying that Ron Paul won't get the nomination. He said "when the majority votes and you don't get your way...."

It's looking like he doesn't think Ron Paul will get the nomination and is also thinking everyone that has jumped into and will vote republican (RP) will leave if we don't 'get our way'.

He's right. He's also kind of a party weenie.

No.

He's just one of those ... people ... who puts party before country.

As a great man once said "A man that shall put their political party above their country's people is a man that is a f*cking lamewad"

and that great man was me... :p

The fight isn't between Republican and Democrat. The fight is between collectivism and individual liberty!

In other words, the Republicans and Democrats are 2 factions of the same collectivist team.

Got into a quasi arguement w/ my father in law about party loyalty after I told him I wouldn't be voting Republican if I'm not voting for Paul. But he is an open minded guy who currently supports Huck. But he was asking loads of questions about RP.

I value the constitution and liberty far more than I will ever favor the republican party.

QFT Both the Rep and Dem parties are trying to get a globalist shill nominated, time to wake up and smell the coffee. The whole thing is a facade, and they are two different sides of the same coin pretending to oppose each other.

It's funny. He basically says that if you're voting for Ron Paul because he's on the R ticket and he doesn't win, you'd better vote R after the if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination.

Well, the other candidates DO NOT HAVE CORE REPUBLICAN VALUES.

I commend you on your historically quotable quote.

I believe that most Republican politicians and party leaders would rather see a Democrat in the White House than Ron Paul because they dont want to end the war or eliminate big government because the lobbyists that put money in their campaigns and pockets would lose a lot if the war and certain programs were eliminated. With a Democrat in office the war would likely drag on while they drag their feet wringing their hands over what to do and they want more programs which mean more lobbyists.
