I just tugged open a bag of crispy freeze-dried/salted green beans. Simple product. Green beans grow here. Simple packaging.

"Product of Viet Nam."

Are you kidding me? I used to pick bushels of green beans at my grampa's farm when I was a kid, and now we get beans shipped in from Viet Nam?

Isn't there anything made in America anymore?

All kinds of stuff. We still make a LOT of things.

I guess.

I'm just bugged. Beans. They're so simple. We should be exporting these, not importing them. How can it cost less to ship them in from overseas?

Butterfields Candy, since 1924. All-natural cane sugar baby! Oh yeah, and I was once the company vice president :D

I just bought a WaterQuest 156 Canoe. It is a 15.5 ft 3 seated canoe made in Muskegon Michigan by KL Industries. It floats quite nicely.

skb and pelican cases. the best cases for my guns!

but this is a good thing. Americans are so tired and over worked, by jobs going to asia, it give Americans to take a vacation and sleep! remember that Simpsons show where the nuclear plant is out sourced to India?

EDIT: the BEST THINGS IN LIFE R MADE IN AMERICA!

ATF!!!
Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms!

I bought Halloween candy last year--some sort of gummy candies made by Florida's Natural, who brags about their oranges all being grown in Florida, unlike the evil Tropicana.

On the back of the package it stated "Processed in China."

Lots of chemicals are made in America. A fair amount of clothing is too if you are looking at high end stuff.

There is quite a bit of candy made here. Lots of little ma-and-pa places that make fudge and chocolate and that kind of thing.
