Is the man behind our fantastic ads's wife really in a Romney-PAC?

This is irrelevant because the campaign (strategists) decide the focus of the ad. He just handles the art and animation of the video itself, once given the orders.

His name is Jon Downs and he ADMITS to being "a mainstream Republican" and "not a member of Ron Paul's army."...(HIS words not mine!)

Downs is a well known GOP operative and George Bush fan, and his GOP Establishment wife Alicia was named by the anti-Ron Paul POLITICO as "one of DC's top 10 politocos to watch)

Alicia works for a Romney PAC. The hard hitting, BRUTAL ads that we ran to destroy Gingrich were obviously done to help Romney.

While Downs slams Newt...ROMNEY HAS YET TO HIT WITH A SINGLE ATTACK AD FROM US.

WHY IS THAT????

We don't hit Romney. At all, only at the grassroots level. Romney might need us in the general so he will have to make concessions to Paul, and Paul MIGHT have to do the same to him if Paul wins.

Romney is a smart man and a great speaker, dominating, was a douchebag last campaign (Mickelson interview I think it was), but realizes that we are his biggest threat and respects that, but his political principles are truly unknown.

He's a liar but will most likely be a moderate if elected. I'd rather have him than Bachmann, Santorum, and especially Gingrich. Huntsman would be more preferable but of course #1 is Paul, as is #2 and #3.

It's just politically bad to attack Romney because neither side truly knows how much they'll need the other to win the general. Politics is about coalition building and that's the hard truth.

There might be some mutual respect between Romney and Paul this time around. Romney understands power, and the fact that the biased media tried to make everyone kingmaker other than Paul and Huntsman (they considered Santorum but he's too bigoted) and yet Paul rises to frontrunner status speaks volume. There is probably some mutual respect and I hope that will translate to our movement growing in the future even in the case of a Romney win.

Uggh, Sofia. Not everything is a grand conspiracy. Have you even read this thread? The first 40 posts have multiple answers in them. Ron Paul 2012 is probably seeking to winnow the field down to Ron Paul versus Romney. THEN we go after Romney full tilt. Downs probably has hundreds of videos on his laptop ready to go. I bet the commercials go out January 4th.

Besides, is there some kind of purity test involved in order to work for Ron Paul 2012? No. You do not need to be ideologically aligned with RP to work for him in a Presidential campaign!

If anti-Romney ads were going to be aired, they would have their greatest effectiveness Jan 3-10, if Paul already has momentum from an IA win.

When I finally see a barrage of anti Mitt ads that equal the vicious intensity of our anti-Newt ads....I will post a thread here in which I officially eat my words.

In fact, I may even print out my post on paper, and then do a You Tube of myself literally eating my words. And would do so with joy in my heart!

Until then, I stand by my suspicion that we are being sold out......Stay tuned.

Honestly, I could care less if this has any impact on the campaign. I want to know why the original thread was deleted within a couple of seconds after its creation. It wasn't even moved to a sub-forum.

That's what made me that much more suspicious. Definitely not a good idea to limit someone's first amendment rights around here.

The new ad Dr. Paul has released hits Romney on being a flip-flopper.

I remember a previous ad that featured Romney as a "smooth talking politician" as well..

I think a major anti-Romney ad is in the works though. Probably right after Iowa's election since Romney is our clear opposition in New Hampshire.

i also think, after Iowa when the field becomes clearer, then Dr. Paul can go after Romney.

Not attacking Romney strategically makes sense. His voters are the establishment.

That said, everyone else in the race who wants to complete in Iowa better attack Romney now. Paul would like to face him, but if Romney beats the "conservatives" in IA and NH, it looks really bad for them, and the funding will dry up well before their firewall in SC. This is why I'd expect the last week to be nasty attack after attack against Mitt, because if he ignored Iowa so long and then still won (or at least trounced the non-Paul vote, which for him, is just as good), he'll be sitting pretty.

And then Paul will have an interesting but challenging opportunity. A one-on-one race with Romney. It seems like this is what the campaign wants, so let's see if they get it. If Mitt wins SC, they will.
