Is the firearm buying rush over?

I decided to go on gunbroker and look at AR-15 lowers. Seems like everything may be back to normal as I saw complete lowers in the right price range (400 bucks for an RRA).

I have not been to any local shops though lately.

What do yall think?

I think self-defense is illegal where I live.

Anyone know where I can buy a high-quality pellet gun? Preferably a pellet gun with enough power to stop big game.

When I talk to local shops they've been saying its hard to get stuff from their warehouses. "Big box" retailers like Cabella's and Gander Mtn don't seem to be having a problem keeping stock though.

When I get a few extra bucks, I'm looking at picking up one of these. The Stoeger Cougar 9mm. (Based on the old Beretta Cougar model) I held one at Gander and it feels awesome in my hand, perfect fit. It'll be great for conceal carry too.

I'm savings up nickels out of each paycheck to build out my soap stockpile.

CA has no laws against this yet, do they? It's a precharged pneumatic (you fill the reservoir under the barrel with air from a hand pump) 8-shot lever action repeater that shoots 9mm slugs with enough power to be legally used for hunting deer. Plus it looks like something that Arnold Schwarzenegger would use in a spaghetti western. Definitely not a toy like most airguns. One shot from this at full power would blow right through a human body.

my gun store has about 10 black guns left. they used to have racks and racks. they say 6-12 weeks before their distributors can catch up. ammo prices are still high. the demand may not be there anymore or maybe it has dwindled, but it will take some time for the supply to catch up.

I haven't been looking for guns other than some pistols. Ammo here is tough to find, wal mart's here are out of everything. All I need is some 9mm and a bunch of .22lr. The only thing I shoot lately is my 22 stuff, but I am under 5k rounds and I don't like that.

$400 is still pretty high compared to what they were. My guess is we have at least a year before any semblance of normality returns, barring anymore bullshit. However, with the gang of rabid communists we have coming into office, I don't see that happening.

It's only going to get worse.

I agree. $400 is way high. You should be able to buy a stripped lower for $150ish and then add about $50 for a RRA parts group.

All the distributors I know can't get anything right now in the way of AR15s. Delton is about 4 months behind. JSE is having a hard time getting anything, and is getting shorted by almost every supplier. CMMG is running about flat out and is only selling complete guns - no parts. I talked to the owners of CMMG a couple weeks ago, and they're trading other manufacturers for parts, and they're a military supplier. That should tell you the real state of things...

Ammo is my biggest worry right now. It has doubled in the past few years, and shows no sign of slowing. This ammo grab is just making it worse. 22LR is even scarce around here. Our local Wal-Mart has been out of the 550 rd bricks since before Christmas. I guess I need to start reloading more and buy up all the 22 when I can...
