Is Ron Paul a republican?

Hell no Ron Paul is NOT a Republican. Wake up people. Get off the crack.

Ron Paul himself is "registered" as a Republican and has used the Republican vehicle to get elected because that is the way the system is set up. If you take the modern day Republican view, that makes Ron Paul not a Republican. Ron Paul himself has said a million times that he doesn't agree with the Republican party on anything, hence he is a not a Republican. Ron has said over and over and over that both parties are statists.

Ron Paul is a constitutional libertarian.

If Coolidge is your idea of a Republican, Ron Paul is a Republican. If what Ronald Reagan said to get elected in 1980 is your idea of Republican values, Ron Paul is the embodiment of Republican values.

If Nixon and the Bush family are your idea of Republicans, then Ron Paul is no Republican.

Ron Paul is Ron Paul. If he doesn't fit the mold of Republican, then Republican no longer means Constitutionalist, conservative, or Christian.

The debate here reminds me a lot of church I visited a couple of times in my youth. A bunch of the people there were always arguing about who was, and who wasn't "really a Christian" because everyone's definition was slightly different.

Ron Paul is a registered Republican. He holds office as a Republican. He ran for the Republican nomination in the Republican primaries and argues in favor of "taking back" the Republican party.

Sounds to me like he considers himself a Republican, in spite of the arguments about what really constitutes being Republican.

That's good enough for me.

LOL I know some church people who are obsessed with which denominations are real Christians.

The others are the RINOs...The Republican Party is the party of Goldwater, Taft and Coolidge. It is the Republican establishment that has strayed from traditional Republican principles, not Ron Paul.

The Republican party is not the party of Goldwater, Taft, and Coolidge. It is the party of Bush and Romney, and Santorum, and Dole. The republican party isn't a government institution with constitutional regulations determining what it is. What it is is determined by the people in charge, and their party platform that they the party and delegates decide on.
