Is Rand Paul eyeing a 2028 presidential run? Here's what he had to say

Is Sen. Rand Paul eyeing another chance at the White House?

"It's too early to tell" if he'll make a bid in the 2028 presidential election, he said at an event in Shepherdsville on July 14. But he didn't rule out a future run.

"I think in the Republican Party, though, there needs to be someone representing that international trade is good for America, that we get richer and more prosperous in the world we trade..." Paul said. "There's a feeling for some, led by the president and others, that they want less trade and somehow limitations on trade."

The Kentucky senator was recently featured in an Axios article on potential GOP contenders who are trying to build a national profile. According to the article, Paul has already visited Iowa and South Carolina and has plans to go to New Hampshire, an early primary state.

Yea cus that's worked out great for us so far!

I think I prefer DeSantis. But Rand Paul would be totally acceptable as well.

America became a superpower by trading with all nations while not intervening

so yeah, it worked out well

We did a shitload of intervening so you can't really say that America became a superpower while not intervening.

You can say that America became a superpower despite the intervening.

But I can also say that America became a superpower despite the trading with all nations.

we had very little intervention initially as we had no standing army.

but hey, go ahead and rework history

I have yet to find a reason to disagree with Thomas Massie.

Same here. I'm not aware of anything I've really disagreed with Massie about.

There are two things I have disagreed with Ron Paul about - the death penalty, and the AUMF for Afghanistan.

But he came around on both of those - so we're at 100%, too, now.

Not nearly on the scale today. Prior to World War I, the US was primarily a domestic economy.

And like acptulsa said, we became a superpower prior to WW I
of course not on the scale of today

But consumerism on todays scale is not sustainable either

We most certainly were.
