I believe that home schooling is not really an outstanding idea. Kids should have interaction with their peers while in school. That's where most frequently true friendship and healthy competition begin.
Students are more likely to share useful materials and lifehacks for studying while in the classroom. This is a load of crap. The problem with kids today is that they are oversocialized with a very limited group of people who are all indoctrinated with one way of thinking. This is not a real life experience.

Kids need fine motor skills for proper brain development. They need core strength for proper brain development.

We home schooled. Our child was better socially adapted than any of her peers. She is doing just fine as an adult, home schooling 4 of her own 5 children.

I think you are making a lot of assumptions about home schooling that are not true at all.

My son is 6. My wife took him to the library today, and checked out The Jungle Book, because I told him about Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. When I got home, I saw that it wasn't an abridged version, so I asked him if he wanted me to read Rikki-Tikki-Tavi to him. He told me "oh, I already read it" so nonchalantly. I was blown away, and wanted to make sure he actually did read it, and didn't just see it was a difficult or boring read and set it aside. So I started asking questions about the characters/plot.....turns out, the dewd read it. And now he's on chapter 3 of Shiloh.

Too bad he just has no socialization skills

Definitely doing homeschooling if I ever have kids. Not gonna let my kids go through the same bullshit that I did. From what I can tell, most people that were home schooled end up being better members of society.

It's important to call it "home education" rather than "home schooling". It's even more important to say "independent education" instead of "unschooling." It is not a simple answer. Today we have an entire society of people that are disillusioned and unable to change a light bulb. These people are the new parents. Is everyone the same? No. Are some people capable of providing excellent education for their children? Yes. Can a child flourish and prosper in public school? Yes. The less involved you are with government the better off you are. So in that case homeschooling is great. Parenting and teaching doesn't cease to exist if your children go to public school. I have had great success with my children. I was their primary educator. They went to public school and prospered. All had massive college credits when leaving HS. Great scholarships for college. Developed good friendships. They were among the socialists and in the society of indoctrination. They know more about life than most of us. They know about liberty. They are independent thinkers. I have no regrets. My ex-wife's sister was an obese religious fanatic that homeschooled her children and they turned out pretty freaky. My own sister has liberal views and been seeking therapy since early 90's. She has been on one or multiple forms of antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications since then. She homeschooled her 3 children early in life and they are all dysfunctional this day. Having the blind lead the blind is not a recipe for success. I think my oldest daughter has been homeschooling her children. I am confident they are well adjusted and getting the stimulation they need. I do however think that unless you are a genius it is difficult to teach chemistry, physics, calculous.....My kids are way more educated then I am. I taught them logic, math, reading, when very young. I challenged their mathematical skills when they were little. I planted the seeds and made sure the soil was fertile. At 49 I took chemistry. The class started with 29 students and ended with 8. Most of the students were taking chemistry for the second time. First time for me. I could not teach chemistry, physics, calculous, trigonometry, biology, and I would not want to.If a person specializes in physics they will be a much better teacher than me. I discussed this with my son not that long ago he mentioned that the laws and rules of math and science are not changed by social opinion or political correctness.

Honestly it's crazy, but statistics show that even homeschooled kids taught by parents who never finished high school score better on grade level exams than the public school students' average

It doesn't need to have been formal education.

They just need to know enough to be able to identify a good quality curriculum.

Nation’s Report Card: ‘No Progress in Either Mathematics or Reading Performance’ in Decade

Results of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as the Nation’s Report Card, shows U.S. school children have made “no progress” in reading or mathematics over the past ten years.

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which administers the NAEP, released its 2019 results Wednesday for reading and math for students in grades four and eight.

“Over the past decade, there has been no progress in either mathematics or reading performance, and the lowest-performing students are doing worse,” Peggy Carr, associate commissioner of the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), said, according to Education Week. “In fact, over the long term in reading, the lowest-performing students—those readers who struggle the most—have made no progress from the first NAEP administration almost 30 years ago.”

Since 2017, the last year testing took place, reading performance has declined substantially in both grades four and eight.

We started home schooling about 30 years ago. Basically we had a Bible and a library card. There are so many resources and tutorials available these days. Call the local home school hot line and you can get plugged in right away. Our daughter is home schooling four of her five children and it’s pretty amazing what they have access to.
