Iowa Straw Poll Canceled

First their attempt to close down the Nevada caucus, now this.

Pretty obvious that they're trying to batten down the hatches for the impending Rand-nami.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to r3volution 3.0 again.

Just a few things to consider:

1) The goal was to fundraise for the IAGOP
2) The CURRENT state central committee changed the way it was raising funds for the event to a situation where it would have broke even at best.
3) The change of location really wasn't a big deal, but the new location subsidy situation didn't help.
4) Kaufman pulled an Obama by blaming the previous administration for it's failure.
5) Walker would be the expected winner per the polls, but Paul, Carson, Cruz, and Trump would all have decent odds of winning also.
6) Fox News is only taking the top 10 for the debates. Anyone of the 20 candidates vying for spots 9 and 10 would be out if they don't do well at the straw poll

awwe. did the gop get butt hurt about rons success the last 2 elections? are they afraid rand will win?

"Is this just because lazy ass Jeb Bush could not be bothered to come?"

No it's because Walker wasn't going to come. They sort of expected Bush not to show up. But Walker was the key and he wasn't going to do anything special for the poll, so they nixed it.

Which is fine. Rand needs to save up all the money he can for caucus effort and he doesn't need to blow much of it just to get a straw poll win over Ben Carson. It's obvious after 2012 the media doesn't take it seriously anymore and it was only a matter of time before Iowa Republicans weren't going to take it seriously either.

This has nothing with Walker. The establishment in Iowa always had their sights on curtailing the Straw Poll. Why? Because it gave upstart candidates a huge platform and millions of dollars in free media attention. They ratcheted up their efforts to diminish the Straw Poll when it appeared Ron might win it in 2012.

They didn't want to make it obvious so that's why they moved it out of a prime venue in Ames to a backwater in Boone. They also went as far as doing away with the bidding process for getting the best tent area to set up shop. And what can be more republican than having the free market determine Straw Poll space? Well, the establishment did away with that too. They did everything they could to poison the well and make it less and less attractive for candidate to participate. Makes you wonder why doesn't it? The Straw Poll was a big deal, it brought in lots of money for the Iowa GOP and brought in a media storm of publicity and attention to Iowa.

They knew that Rand or some other grassroots candidates were going to do very well, so they killed it to curtail any media attention they would have garnered. We've seen this kind of self sabotage by the establishment before, both in Iowa and other states. They won't turn over bank accounts or donate if they lose. This is beyond taking your ball home when you lose; this is detonating a bomb in the middle of the field so nobody can win. I hope Steve Deace and Jan Mickelson call them out over this. And honestly, Iowa needs to be punished if they allow this to happen. They should lose their first in the nation status.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.... This is fracking hilarious. No, seriously... it's a bloody riot. These third-rate players of the tyrant's game are so very apparently running scared. It's always good to see such things because it demonstrates that Theye are not quite beyond the reach of defeat. It could be argued in some artless flare of pedantry that this is just more smoke and mirrors designed to render a certain appearance to the world, but methinks perhaps not. Were it so, perhaps it would be appearing all over the MSM, but it seems absent there.

Rand Paul has Theire undies in a knot. He stands to delay Theire agenda and Theye appear to have lost their classical patience for taking the time necessary to get done that which leads to attainment of their goals. This raises a question in my mind... or perhaps just an observation: this apparent lapse of patience that I see in Theire behaviors, what with the HUGE bites out of our rights and all that is good propriety that Theye now take on what seems a daily basis - what drives it? Is it that the scent of the goal being so close to attainment has driven them into a frenzy where they have tossed much caution to the wind? Or are Theye on a time-critical schedule? My dad used to point this out - this consistency of direction and the fact that Theye appear to be operating on a very definite and, apparently, critical timeframe. Either way, the truth leads to some fascination. Either Theye have gone mad past the threshold of self-preservation, meaning they will eventually suffer a severe setback due to screwing up all that for which they have apparently labored all these generations, or they are driven by a precise schedule. Which is it? If the latter, it begs the question of what is going on.

My lunatic speculations aside, it is good to see such things happening. It exposes Theire weakness on this avenue. If there is this, there are likely others as well.

The downside, of course, is that the strategy may actually succeed. After all, just look at the blatancy of the 2000 election and all the nonsense that went on in Florida and so forth. Theire blatant and outrageous behavior exposes them to the light, but given that they are not put to ends after such exposure... well, perhaps Theye no longer need fear it. It truly appears that Theye can do literally anything they want at this point and the public will do nothing to stop them. That alone should give the thinking man pause to worry and lose some sleep at night. That is where we appear to stand, currently, and it is not a good place.

^^^^^^^^
It is both. The timeframe is set by the 'heavens' and throwing caution to the wind to fit the last steps into that timeframe, otherwise the agenda is exposed as simply selfish interests instead of the cover of fulfilling destinies and prophecies "for the greater good". Many have claimed the high ground in the name of religious doctrine while committing gross atrocities. Without that claimed religious high ground, those that commit the atrocities are nothing more than barbarians and are remembered as such.

. . . just to get a straw poll win over Ben Carson. It's obvious after 2012 the media doesn't take it seriously anymore and it was only a matter of time before Iowa Republicans weren't going to take it seriously either.
