Thats a perfectly reasonable ruling. You should be able to fire anyoene for any reason unless you have a contract that says otherwise.
 
The guy sounds like a dick. On the other hand, the woman, here lawyer and the ABC legal expect all seem like that have major issues with males. They all seem to think men are inferior.

I've worked at will before. At 1 point my job was not renewed. This happened for more than 1 job. I never sued. I took it like an adult. Clearly, many people involved in this story still act like little children.


I couldnt agree more. Women feel superior and feel like they are entitled to rewards without doing the work while the men do. Aditionally, at will employment is at will employment unless the company had other agreements or advertisements regarding the position.
 
If anyone here was fired over a horseshit reason like that any of you would forget your ideals and see right through that bullshit. That chick should sue husband and wife so bad it hurts. A job is someone's life, their livelihood. Also, if you want to fire someone find all of the job related things they are actually doing wrong, and fire someone for that. Fire someone the smart way. If she was proficient at her job she had no business being fired. Heck, if you froze her pay and cut her hours she would just quit anyway.

As the boss you can fire someone for no reason at all. At least he was nice enough to tell her why she is fired.

3 weeks of "no work" go by so I file for unemployment, he send back a letter to DOL saying I'm terminated...
3 weeks later hearing #1, boss is a no show, they reschedule for 2 weeks later.
2 weeks later hearing #2, boss no show.. I finally get to collect unemployment.
So the dick tied me up in unemployment for 2months as my going away present for 12 years of service..

After 12 years of 60 hour weeks, he didn't even the balls to tell me I'm fired..
Turns out he replaced me with a guy that I trained, and pays him half what he payed me.

So, I say at least she knows why she was fired. :P
 
The headlines on the news articles about this are misleading. She wasn't fired for being "attractive", she was dressing inappropriately for the job (non-professionally), she had been talked to several times about her dress and continued dressing inappropriately. All the news stuff about the jealous wife & the turned on dentist are distractions from the real issue. Most jobs have dress codes, in order to project a certain image for the business. Not following a dress code is grounds for dismissal regardless of what one feels about at-will employment or the civil rights act.

I was once fired and received an ageement they wouldnt contest unemployment. Well when I went for unemployment, the HR person who fired me and their lawyer was there to contest it. I showed the guy our agreement and he gave me this bullshit that they were no contesting it but just telling their story. I didnt get unemplyment that time. Obviously I could have sued but I was too busy.
 
Really? Aren't there entire industries based around the fact that men get turned on by looking at pretty women?
And to be fair, he wasn't just "merely seeing" her; he worked close with her for years, knew each other. If she is physically attractive as well as personable it only makes sense that resisting these natural urges could become distracting.

Lies are better than truth. Doing things dishonestly is smart.

Because terminating people dishonestly is easier than doing it honestly, it must be better.

My guess is that there was retaliation against the goomar, and it legally held up somehow.

Because the default law in this country is called "employment at will". That means you are free to quit your job for any reason or no reason and your employer is free to quit you for any reason or no reason (except a short list of statutorily prohibited reasons relating to race, religion and gender. Which statute should be repealed. ).
