Fred Karger hits magic 1% threshold in Fox News poll one week before South Carolina – Fox News Debate

DALLAS, TEXAS – In the first Fox News Poll to include his name, Californian Fred Karger garnered 1% in a national poll released today. The poll was conducted by Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research.

Karger will be announcing the results and reaffirming his desire to be included in next Thursday’s South Carolina GOP and Fox News Debate at 1:20 pm in a speech today to the Log Cabin Republicans National Convention. The speech will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, 2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX.

Karger has been invited to next week’s first-in-the-nation debate in Greenville, SC, but organizers have so far refused to let him participate because he had not been included in any national polls. This should change things significantly. Buddy Roemer has been included in the debate, but did not hit the 1% threshold in today’s poll, the first to include his name.

“I am delighted that in the very first national poll to include me with all other presidential candidates, I hit the 1% number required to be included in the South Carolina Debate,” said Karger. “As the first out gay candidate to ever run for President of the United States, this is truly historic. All the hard work of so many people helping me over the past 14 months has truly paid off. And there is only one way to go but up!”

Guys, we REALLY need to focus our energy on Iowa. Our ability to really WIN will live and die with Iowa. We don't have to necessarily WIN Iowa but we need to be competitive and atleast come in 2nd or a close 3rd. Our advantage is the grassroots and money we can raise, and the way we can actually win caucuses and primaries is by having boots on the ground EARLY, and then translate that into momentum. the time to prepare for Iowa is over a year, and with our massive base and a somewhat liberty friendly state if we CANNOT make a splash in Iowa or N.H. then we might as well relegate the campaign to that of an educational one.

Long story short, we need to setup the liberty house Idea that is being floated around on the forums.

Iowa means everything. A very strong showing could create tons and tons of momentum and energy that could carry us far. It's not so much about winning the election, but the hearts and minds of the American public. A very strong showing in the primary will force the other candidates to take notice and shift the debate in our favor.

I'd go further and say that the time to prepare for Iowa is only three months, and if Ron Paul cannot bus at least 5,000 supporters to Ames in August to win the relatively easy straw poll (easy relative to the IA caucus), which is the only opportunity for a 2nd-tier candidate with a devoted following to break through to top tier, then we might as well relegate the campaign to that of an educational one.

Most important is finding enough people to attend the Ames straw poll in order to win it. Caucus goers will be easier to persuade after that. With such a straw poll showing, Ron would be well on his way to victory in Iowa, and a strong second or even first place in NH.
