Update: I have gotten rates from the Iowa Newspaper Association. The chip-in goal reflects the cost of running the ad as a 1/4 page full color display ad on Sunday in the Daily Nonpareil. Dusman has been messaged again about the ad modification. The Iowa Falls Times-Citizen was removed because their circulation was much lower than originally thought (only 3,780) so the next highest newspaper was added, The Daily Nonpareil.

Update: Will call Times Citizen and Sioux City Journal tomorrow. Contacted Iowa Newspaper Association tonight to see what their prices are like (could be cheaper than dealing directly), will hear back tomorrow. We have a thousand dollar donor! Dusman will send the modified ad to me tomorrow.

RPF,

After running three highly successful Iowa newspaper ad campaigns (#1 #2 #3) featuring dusman's "Oath" ad and pauliticalfan's "Shock" ad, we would like to do a final ad campaign before the Iowa caucus on January 3rd. This ad campaign will be the most ambitious yet. It will reach hundreds of thousands of Iowans and address the sole issue holding us back from 1st place. What we are proposing is running the professional and attractive "Oath" ad in as many Iowa newspapers as possible as close to the caucus as possible. The highest circulated newspapers will be targeted first. The first target is the Des Moines Register, the mother of all newspapers in Iowa with a Sunday circulation of 212,162. The ad (modification will remove Cain and insert Gingrich) will be run as either a 1/2 page or 1/4 page full color display ad depending on how much we raise. We will deal with the Iowa Newspaper Association to get the lowest rates possible. Paypal charges 2.9% on the total sale which will be reflected in the chip-in goal. We have no time to waste, the longer it takes to raise the funds the more deadlines we will miss!

This is what the ad looks like in print.

Don't worry I'm still giving at least $100 to the moneybomb. I set aside some of my $ for RP type stuff each month.

Can we run the "Shhhh...Newt" ad as well? We need to take him down a further notch.

We concluded that the foreign policy/national defense issue was the single most important issue to address as it is our biggest negative. We believe it is the sole reason we are not currently in first place in many polls across the nation. Others may run attack ads, but we are concentrating on this.

Here's what it looked like in Iowa Farmer Today:

The sole funding source for that one was one thread on RPFs and it raised $3,500 in less than 2 weeks. The ad went out to 70,000 Iowa farm households last Saturday (12/10). Thanks again to all the generous donors, and please keep it coming!

Any feedback from normal (not already Paul supporters) Iowans on the ad?

As I am not in Iowa I personally haven't gotten any feedback. I asked every newspaper I advertised with about feedback, but none responded. According to marketing experts I spoke with these are great ads and the forum definitely loves them. IDefendThePlatform might have gotten some feedback?

This could be huge bank for the buck, let's get this fully funded! We need to aim not only to win Iowa, but to win it by as high a margin as possible. Perfectly done ad.

You just made a payment of
$50.00 USD

I just emailed the ad rep asking for any, I'll post when he replies.
