Great going Iowa! I can tell that Ron Paul's people have been working hard in Iowa to set the agenda. I am really happy with their proposals for agriculture: Labeling GMO's, being able to sell their goods to whom ever they want, and make it legal to grow hemp. I found this at a liberal site and they are going bonkers over this anything to make them show their true colors.

Nice, they even got in there the non-aggression principle.

I like this the most:
The Republican Party affirms that it will only endorse and provide financial support for candidates who agree to vote for legislation in substantial alignment with the party platform.

Though it could have been worded a bit more deliberately to say that the party affirms that it will only endorse or provide financial support for candidates who agree to vote and while in office vote for legislation that is in alignment with the party platform.

You can agree all you want. It is when you get in office and actually do something that matters.

I hope everyone will read this proposal it could be a good guide if you take part in forming your own state's platform.

+1

There are some Iowa specific items and a lean toward pro-life and agriculture but it could be used in other states as a template.

I was surprised that they called for an end to ethanol subsidies.

The people who wrote that, despite many claiming to be "liberty advocates", either don't understand libertarianism, the Constitution, or the intent of the founding fathers - or they don't understand many of the legal issues behind things they reference (like Right to Work). A good portion of the addictinginfo stuff is right. I'd say about 1/3 of it.

Edit:

And let me point out that I disagree with many key ideas in right-libertarianism. My statements above aren't about my personal views.

That's why the clause about funding candidates is so fascinating. It tries to give teeth to the platform.

Lisafrequency
Women of child bearing age are not a majority and in a supposed democracy the majority rules. I thought all you libs were for democracy.

It looks like you also need to read up on the history of the country.

The Mott ROmney chatrooms have been passing around a different platform and telling people it is the new Iowa platform. :(

Damn you for making me read that. But it really illustrates how absolutely insane the left actually is. Unfortunately, there's a lot of them.

LOL! Hey I do battle with these people everyday. It is a dirty job but someone has to do it.

BTW in the proposal I hear the voice of Ron Paul it is his delegates and supporters who are trying to hold them critters accountable and I think we need to keep it up.
