The local Iowa tv station's 5 day forecast is predicting the night before the Caucuses it will reach a bitter cold of -4 degrees.

The day of the Caucuses predicts a high of 32, dropping to 10 degrees later on.

I know it's Iowa, but I'm thinking the cold may keep some of the older vote at home. Particularly some of those older church-goin' Evangelicals that might be inclined to vote for the Huckster, McCain, or Thompson.

This kind of weather works in favor of the die-hard supporters with a fire in their bellies. IOW... US! :D

Is that about normal weather....I mean for the caucus? Wonder what the history of temps has been....verses turnout? Anyhow...I hope it gets worse there...it can only help us I would think:D

Don't know the history. But you're certainly right about the other.

ANYTHING that discourages others from braving the elements helps our Cause. Ok. Maybe NOT "brain eating zombies". But other than that... :p

I know this is neither here nor there, and I didn't feel like making another thread about it, but what are the states other then IA that have caucuses instead of primaries?

If it was -4 degrees the day of (like your misleading title indicates) that would be something to celebrate. ~32 degree weather won't likely discourage anyone.

I know this is too far off to say, but NH's forcast is:

Fri: Partly cloudy
Sat: Mostly cloudy
Sun: Cloudy

So a system may be coming in then... Monday flurries, Tuesday snowstorm? :D

get a grip people - in the end getting voters out is a better use of energy than specualting on weather

Honestly, bad weather would just give the media and the rest of the candidates an excuse for why Paul does well in Iowa, assuming he does.

"He doesn't actually have as much support as the other candidates. They're just a more fanatical base."

Dear Lord,
On Caucus Day, please dump a shitload of snow on all the non-Ron-Paul-loving Iowan voters.
If you do this for me Lord, I swear I'll stop looking at those bad, dirty websites between Ronpaulforum postings. Thank you, God. Happy New Year.
Love,
Rosypalm

It's the mindset going in. Obviously you never used psychological intimidation in competion.

The 32 degrees is the HIGH, which will be in the middle of the day. The LOW is projected at 10, with that -4 still fresh in the minds from the night before/early that morning.

And FYI... not "misleading". Most people know that the coldest part of any given 24 hr cycle is usually between 2am-4am IN THE MORNING. In this case, the morning of the Caucuses.

By the time people are waking around 6-6:30am, it may have risen to a balmy 2 degrees. THAT should encourage everyone to rush out.

THINK, man.

While true... telling us that at 10:45pm should make you realise we're not exactly taking away from efforts in that arena. This is "after hours".
