I fucking love Firefly, but I disagree with trying to politicize it. Yes, Firefly and Serenity has a heavily libertarian message, but I don't want to try to turn it into a campaigning tool.

I loved the show, and one of the big reasons was the underlying plot of liberty vs. oppression. I would certainly kick in
a few bucks if there was a good chance the show could come back.

My only question would be what the cast would look like. Unless they want to claim the movie never happened, a couple
of the main characters are dead, and I doubt there would be much chance that ALL the other actors (Gina Torres, Morena
Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, etc) would be willing to sign on. They would just about have to go with some sort of Firefly
spinoff concept.

Why couldn't they just pick up new crew members? That's how the series began. Wash and Book weren't really crucial members anyway (though Book's past was never explored). Wash was basically comic relief.

It's already politicized - BRING IT BACK!

Movie totally changed the characters' personalities from what they were in the series. Maybe they can just pretend it never happened :x

no no no. A lot happened between the end of the series and the movie which explains the changes. Plus, Joss Whedon never goes backward, but I wouldn't worry about it. There will be flashbacks or something to bring Wash and Book back occasionally. And we haven't seen the fallout from the movie's events or how those events changed our characters.

There's no need for us to politicize this. If Firefly goes back on, it will move the culture in a more libertarian direction organically. Let's be non-interventionists. :)

great series, I wouldn't be interested in trying to bring it back for political support purposes. I rather like the series and movie as the cult classic that it is becoming. I think a new run would diminish the appeal.

I never watched it as a series. Don't even remember seeing it on.
But I have watched the series online and enjoyed it. Serenity is one of my favorite movies.

I would love to see it done, if done well.

Yeah that movie was really good, loved the message. Would like to see this show on tv, better than 99% of the other shit I see.

Ever seen Serenity? Then you've seen the world of Firefly.
