Interesting Emergency Meeting Called for GOP

They woke up and realized they're in a hospital bed. Gee, after Craig and Vitter and Cheney blowing a supporter's face off and this petrodollar quagmire as a false response to the still-at-large bin Laden (an old family friend of the president) they're just shocked--shocked--to learn that they're no longer maintaining the confidence of the people! Imagine!

Too Bad about Woody Jenkins in Louisiana... I remember him campaigning at our state convention while the Ron Paul people were getting fucked.

This is a great sign, the neocons are dying on the vine.

"He also stressed the importance of having a platform and message unique from the presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)."
... wow.. so the GOP figured out that their nominee is a dud and the local candidates need to distance themselves from him if they're going to win. How about that.

All these things the GOP and RNC is doing to the Ron Paul supporters this year are going to haunt them for the rest of their lives.
It isn't just about associating with McCain, it was about disenfranchising a whole segment of their membership. And that will never be forgotten.

it's too bad they're being replaced by lefties

You are looking short term.
Those lefties will give the people the same shit as the neocons.
So when the public herd swings back the other way because they don't have anything left, we will be in control of the GOP machine. Assuming we don't relent.
We keep challenging these local GOP neocons.

The people will lose faith in their current sheep herders after the GOP gets totally slaughtered this year.

No, because there's no conscience in politics. What will happen is that in about 4 years we'll start to see our message being preached at us, and we'll be mad, because they tried to disown us when we said the exact same thing.

yes, but replaced by agents of the left. seems like we lose no matter who is elected. and the good politicians are too far and between in order to make some real change.

I hope so. but where will the neocons go? I always favored an exodus to the LP.

In four years? At the Oklahoma state convention, a Ron Paul joke that appeared in this forum (the balloonist and the fisherman) had the names changed slightly (Ron Paul supporter to Republican, Obama supporter to Democrat) and was told at the podium. It isn't taking anything like four years. I'd say the most immediate and deadliest threat to this movement is candidates who coopt our message but have no intention of delivering on it.

That's why we need to hire private detectives of some sort.

Are you going to get involved locally?
I am.
Are you going to forget? I'm not.
I know the situation in Louisiana, the neocons grip was tight, but its isn't that tight anymore. More and more of their loyalist are having doubts.
We have established leaders of our own in the state party.
It is by taking these local and state party offices, we can ensure a free and fair election. That is the only way.
Until then, we will keep getting the same.

The GOP destruction in 2008 will leave a lot of positions open for us on the state and local level.

Question is.. who is going to sacrifice their time and money to get involved and take those positions so that the rest of us can enjoy a real election?
That is the real work of this movement. And I see the beginnings of it in these local revolts.

Don't see how that would help. But as for threads just today that show all three of the Three Stooge--or rather the Three Senators--are trying to coopt his message now (McCain directly, the others through friendly media types).

We just need to emphasize that there's only one Dr. No--at least for now...

An extra million in the LP is a bad idea?

In hypotheticals.. if I were to ask, if you were to bring a fold of people into a party, would it make more sense to bring the LP into the CP or the CP into the LP?

Logically, you would say, well the LP is bigger, better organized, why would you want to take down that structure for a smaller one?

Then take the example one step furthur, Should the GOP membership join the LP, or the LP membership join the GOP.

Logically, you would have to say, well, the GOP is bigger, better organized, wins elections regularly, why would you want to take down that structure for a smaller one?

As in, The Party's are just vehicles with different logos.
The destination is up to whoever the driver is....
If given a choice, and you could fix the platform to your liking, and endorse liberty candidates.
Would you want to drive a big powerful car? Or a smaller one that doesn't have much gas?

These are questions i had to ask myself.

Are you going to get involved locally?
I am.

Already am. Currently I am campaign treasurer for an independent in the IL 10th.

www.stevoforcongress.com . (The seat is held by a NeoCon.)

I'm not a people person - no way would I make a good candidate.

Yep - I am very good at paperwork. I also have a knack for putting people together.

I wish we had a private forum where the people involved in these grassroots efforts could discuss strategy and resource ideas. I'm sadly lacking in some of those areas, and there's not enough hours in the day to research every option.

They are pissed that Woody lost! Did you see how many glossy mailers went out paid for by the National Committee? It was unreal! Just goes to show that fancy campaign expenditures don't guarantee a victory, now they're saying candidates have to be financially responsible for their own campaigns.

I would be a candidate but Huey Long gave me the shaft! haha
