Insider Advantage FL 13% 3rd place

Why do we keep getting bounces in the polls for the next state each time we not win a state?

Yea, i find that weird too. What sucks, is it never materialized into anything in SC. I blame the campaign a lot for that though, they really could have done things better on the way out of NH and let way too much momentum slip away. We should have finished close to (if not over) 20% in SC. People were talkin more about Ron's victory speech in NH than they were about Romney, it was pretty unbelievable. Then 4 days off, no events at the big schools, Ron's endorsements get no mention at all, then that second to last debate killed any chance he had, and Santorum wound up getting the numbers WE should have had  If you do the math from IA and NH, Ron finished 3-5% higher on Caucus/Primary night compared to several polls 1-2 days before. In SC he was polling anywhere from 15-20. I just can't help but feel that there was way more to be desired and it was an underachievement, even if it was a state we werent destined to do well in.

Once again, he has a chance to take 3rd in FL and knock Santorum out of it once and for all. But keep in mind, these numbers looked similar to the first SC polls coming out of NH (expect Mitt is behind Newt now). I am guessing Ron wont be doing many events in FL (if any at all) and will only be there for the debates. Considering he would only have 8 days to campaign there, i really dont think it would give him much of a bump anyway. Still, he has a chance for third, but again, it will depend largely on the two debate before FL's primary.

I'll tell you right now, if he bungles a FP question in the next debates though, and gets booed or whatever, it's not going to be good at all. That SC debate is still fresh on people's mind (even though he did fantastic in the last one) and if that happens again in FL, that is pretty much going to be a nail in the coffin. You can't deny that. The media is going to run with that, busting his chops endlessly and making him out to be the laughing stock of the party and the 'jester' of the debates. If he doesn't hold it together for the FP questions and doesn't prepare/rehearse his answers (that are more than adequate to avoid being booed) it is just going to be very ugly down the road. I can tell you people DO make up their minds from these stupid 'debates'. Arguing with dopes on other forums, comment sections, etc, they quote things in debates from him. For example, some moron yesterday in a comment section said she seen him in a debate and said 'he said he is going to take everyone's health care away and people have to fend for themselves!!' Of course, that is completely false and/or misconstrued, but again, this could be an issue of Ron not explaining or going into detail on entitlements enough.

Please become a delegate to the GOP National Convention.

This should have it own thread in grassroots forum.

After FL is 3-4 caucus states - 3-4 states where we have been organizing and where we did well last election - 15-18%. If our pattern holds of tripling our vote counts from last year we could bring in several victories and blow this race wide open heading into Super Tuesday.

gingrich cant win. the establishment is going to unleash world war 3 on him pretty soon. this works to our advantage since gingrich is destroying romney while he stays. if santoraum finishes last and gingrich first, santorum might drop out since the conservative winner will be established. then its on to destroy mitt. i've come around in my thinking. i used to think we would be the alternative to mitt but i think we are better positioned to be the alternative to newt. we are electable he is not. we draw independents. he does not. mitt must be the one to drop....not newt

What makes you think the the establishment hates Gingrich? He's the most evil one out there. He's on their side.

yeah i think the establishment wants gingrich to win now
look at how santorum won Iowa just before the SC primary , if they wanted romney to win they would have just ignored pleas for a recount

There wasn't a recount. When the results were certified they were found to be different than the initial reports.

You don't understand anything about campaigning. The campaign let SC go for a reason. It wasn't worth the money that would be spent there.

This depends on what you mean. Lets say Romney won Florida and you are a delegate. You are forced to vote for him on the first 3 votes durring the convention(If there is a brokered convention). After that you can vote for whoever you want. You can't change your vote or what have you durring these first 3 votes if you are a Florida delegate. If you mean after those three votes, then nothing is stoping someone from saying they will vote for one person, then change their vote when the time comes.
If I understand this correctly...

If we go to a brokered convention where not one candidate has enough delegates to win, then wouldn't the very first vote be a formality anyway. The results of the first vote would be how the delegate count looks going into the convention (I think).

We couldn't lose on the first count. No candidate could.

Keep in mind that either Gingrich or Romney could decide, upon realizing they cannot win, to also follow a collect-the-delegates strategy and continue to campaign up to the convention.

Sorry but elections don't work like that in patterns. Too many other variables involved than last time.

It's really annoying sometimes on these boards. Too many people make assumptions based on false premises - I feel, I assume, what if the polls are way off, young voters are gonna win this for us, we have to win the Kucinich voters, Paul's got this against Mitt once everyone else drops out, and on and on.

Then everyone gets upset when Paul doesn't win. Change your thinking of how to win a Republican primary. it is after all what Paul is running for.

Dun matter--WE GOT DELEGATES SO WE WIN

You have 14k+ posts so I would have to assume you are a real supporter, however you have turned into a complete troll. You are posting negative stuff incensantly. What is your agenda?

mind blown. Shouldn't people supporting any candidate then try to infiltrate by becoming delegates for opposing candidates?

Of course they should. That's the way it's always been in politics, nothing new here.

Well, since Paul probably has lots of you guys as delegates... Guys, I'm having a change of heart. I can feel it. Romney 2012! I have come to realize that Mitt is right for our country! We need to beat Obama. brb registering on Romney forums.

In the event anyone is interested, here is the LINK (pdf) to the poll. Interesting to note that Ron is doing the best among likely Hispanic voters.

Many probably know about the Gingrich ghetto comment and Romney's stance on immigration. The Hispanic TV is on top of things like that.

I think gingrich is only relevant in sc and florida. They are very hawkish states and grinch is disgustingly hawkish. He wont last out west and north.
