I was around for the Perot elections in Minnesota and helped out.

The fervor and the support for Ron Paul is 10X what it was for Perot.

I'm still in shock how low the vote was for Ron Paul.

I hope people don't get down on an indepedent run just because we don't get the highest percentages in the Republican primaries, this doesn't mean we can't get them in the election.

During the national election, many more people will vote. It won't be only old people and party loyalists voting. Many people aren't as enthuastic as us about politics and were not willing to go through the hassle of changing parties just to vote in a primary, but they will be there for the general election.

People are more hungry now for an Indepedent canidate than ever.

All I hope for is for Hillary to win. I want to see 50% of the Democrats (Obama voters) totally disillusioned and join us in a glorious independent run.

Many Republicans will also not want to vote for McCain.

We can win this as a 3rd party.

Independent would be a waste of time, Libertarian is only reasonable choice

Sorry, Constitution Party people, but the Libertarian Party has ballot access in more states, will probably have it in all 50 states if Ron runs for the LP. The Constitution Party and LP are almost identical anyway.

Independent means you have to spend millions of dollars just getting on the ballot, something that the LP has already done.

True, the LP is a mess, like someone commented they can't even agree about traffic signals. The LP needs to get competent people in positions of leadership, so they can actually succeed this election or next. That is where the Ron Paul revolution comes in. If all of Ron's supporters joined the LP and it gets candidates running for all congressional seats, it could suddenly become a major party that will put the Republican Party out of business.

Dude the idea of a McCain presidency scares me.

The idea of war with Iran scares me.

The fact they want to build a bunch of Blackwater bases around the country scares me. I think they want to do that so that they can send 100% of the National Guard abroad and then keep everyone under control at home.

The message is a little scary, I know. I'd rather watch the scary stuff on the web and keep it from happening, rather than living through it later.

Also my folks are fine, and my girlfriend is fine too. They aren't going anywhere :)

I agree with you on those issues.

I'm not refering to scaring away your girlfriend or family, I mean potential voters for Ron Paul that you might be trying to persuade. If you come across as maniac and over-emotional people will just tune you out.

I said independent. However, I think if he really needed to, he could use the ballot lines and endorsement of these three parties which have already mostly fallen for Dr. Paul: Libertarian, Constitution, and Reform Part remnants. Maybe a couple other regional parties like the Minnesota Independence Party.

And that's really nothing to scoff at, that's a huge base of third party support. The only ones who wouldn't be on the freedom train would be the usual perennial Socialist minor parties and the Greens.

Ignorant question...sorry.

Çould Paul theoretically still run as a Republican even if he does not win the nomination?

I prefer Independent because it will turn away potential Democrats votes away. People won't be able to put us in any cookie cutter mold.

To win the national election we would need some turnout from both sides.
