Let me start off this thread by apologizing to everyone for your about to be broken monthly budget.

There is a little known company in California that sells mainly to the military and specialist police groups by the name of County Comm. Some of their stuff is available to the public. It's all very high quality, often compact and unusual and frequently available at bargain prices.

Occasionally they get very good quality sleeping bags as seconds from a "name" manufacturer that are over-runs and sell for like $20 a pop. IIRC, they are rated to -20. For some weird reason, they are always "tall". While they don't list them now, keep looking and look often, because they come back, like most sold out items here, over and over again. Other items are one time procurement or production over-runs. When I first found this company, they had a bunch of really, really inexpensive radios left over from a contract that required a lot of "cheap, durable radios to toss out the back of airplanes"...

They do have incredible stuff from time to time! and many items that you will never see anywhere else.

This site is known for it's rather simple web page and numerous dead links. Check back later or write them if you see something you like that doesn't resolve.

DISCLAIMER! - I have absolutely NO association with this company, other than being a very satisfied, and repeat customer.

Why don't we start out with a pocket size short wave radio that runs 150 hrs on 2 AA batteries, has a built in LED flashlight and a clock.

Note that their bags can be pricey, but tend to be a bargain, comparatively, and their watches are expensive.

Cool link! Some neat stuff in there. I have been building a list of things I want to get for my a BOB. Their bag doesn't look to bad either, but I am still looking for that. But for the price compared to others it might be a good buy.

If anyone has any other links/sites like this please post!

Just thought I'd let everyone know I ordered from the site in the first post and the stuff is great. It got here fast, too.
