Important to Write in Ron Paul instead of NOBP in General

Eh? That's wha I thought NOBP meant. I wrote him last time and ill write him in this time
I think NOBP is more a promise to the establishment that he's the only one from the 2 parties we'll vote for... This is meant to be a show of solidarity to show them that they can't win the election without Dr. Paul, because we will not take part in it...

This however, should not preclude us from supporting another liberty-minded candidate that IS on the ballot. I think NOBP goes out the window if we can only write him in, when showing our strength in numbers that are counted as votes is far more effective.

Again, this is a liberty movement, not a cult of personality. With how many people here wish we could leave the GOP and strengthen third-parties, well maybe that's a bit naive in the current environment, but a good start is to get them more than 10%, which we could do with all hands on deck.

Paul/Johnson or Johnson/Paul 2012 if the gop shuts out ron paul. If ron paul doesn't run. My wife will be supporting Gary Johnson. The biggest kick in the balls to gop status quo. Is to get 15% support nationally. Then Gary would be on the debate stage unless gary steps aside to allow a Paul/Johnson Ticket:) One way or another ,the liberty movement is going national in 2012 on the debate stage. This country does not have 4 more years to wait.

Those polls are less than meaningless. In 2007 a similar poll showed random third partiers getting 15-25% of the vote. We have people the public has never even heard of getting 20% of the vote according to some of these 'polls'. If Gary Johnston is really capable of getting 15% of the vote in the general he would not have been so unimportant during the primaries. He isn't and he won't.

In the end, the non-major party votes will probably be around 2-3%, like they usually are.

It would be interesting to see how many people who are now saying NOBP will renig and end up voting for Romney or whomever the GOP candidate is if Paul isn't the nominee. And then to compare them to Paul supporters who aren't saying NOBP....

I'm sure there will be a certain percentage who will renig. Not me, though, because in my mind if either Obama or one of the other GOP candidates is elected, the country is in for some seriously stormy weather.

Between now and the election, I'm going to be preparing to hunker down to weather the storm.

I wouldn't vote for romney gingrich or santorum if you held a gun to my head. I'll write in ron again, just like I did in 08. (It "counted" in CA, he was a write in candidate here)

Your post prompted me to call up my local election board to see how to "write in" a candidate with our current electronic voting machines. I had never done it, but according to the lady, it is no problem: just tap a button on the screen and a virtual keyboard pops up.... I just need to keep my eyes peeled for the right button.

Thanks!

As I said, I worked the polls and it IS very easy to do a write in. They just won't read it, ever. It registers as "other". The only time in theory that they would go in and read them is if "other" won a majority.

You are free to write-in, but your protest will go unheard.

A write in doesn't count.PLEASEPLEASE everyone don't throw your vote away.Vote libertarian!!!All Paul voters please vote libertarian. The libertarian party platform is Ron Pauls platform go check it out.Pleas don't vote for the constitution party either as it is anything but constitutional.

I can't stress enough how the NOBP movement needs to say vote third party instead of encouraging many people to make votes that likely will not be counted in most areas. Don't waste your vote on a write-in. Vote third party and show the establishment there are a large number of votes out there they didn't earn. If they want our votes they need to earn them, and if we want them to take us serious we need to put up a large block of votes that makes them feel the need to start trying to get us on board. Write-ins will do absolutely nothing for the liberty movement.

Why write him in? Doesn't American's Elect happen after the GOP nomination? I'm pretty sure we could get him the American's elect nomination, then he would be on the ballots in all 50 states.

It might be interesting for the GOP to see how many votes they lost by not nominating Dr. Paul. The only way they see this is if we write him in.

An alternate suggestion...in 2008, the Louisiana Taxpayers party put Ron Paul on our ballot as their candidate. I don't know the procedure for something like this, but it would be good if every state did something similar in 2012...again, so the GOP can see the votes they lost.

It really surprises me that we continue to see people in this forum pushing write-in votes considering no one noticed in 2008, things like not being counted and taking into consideration all the shenanigans the Republican party has pulled against Ron Paul in the last 2 cycles.

Think about it, does anyone really believe the Republican party would take notice of Ron Paul write-in votes after everything they have done to screw us. A 3rd party showing they can't ignore since the Republican party has no control in suppressing your vote that way.
