What do you guys think of this article?

One of my friends brother works as a border patrol agent, and he's always posting links (on facebook) to things that say stuff like "we can't let those illegals into our country!!" and things like that.

So I kindly showed him that article, and said "Hey, check out this article. It just shows how some of our immigration laws actually might hurt our economy."

And he messaged me back saying "I read that article, and the person who wrote it lives under a rock, and if you believe its true, then you're delusional! People like you make me sick because you don't appreciate what our servicemen and guardians of the border do for you, they keep drug cartels and terrorists out. They fight for your freedom everyday. Just wait and see what'll happen if this cluster goes through and there is a huge gap on the border!"

And then he blocked me, so I couldn't respond. Lol, is that article REALLY that far "off base"?? I mean, I can see how someone can disagree with it, but "delusional"? I don't know about that.

What do you guys think about immigration laws?

I'm not saying you let a known security risk, someone who has connections to Al Queda or whatnot, into the country. While I get the anarcho-capitalist ideal is that only private property should exist and that the minarchist ideal (Which is mine) would only exclude things like police stations, military bases in the US, and courthouses from the "Only private property" rule, all of which would have more to do with what kind of police we hire than what kind of people are allowed into the country, the reality is that the government claims to own much, much more right now. I don't see anything wrong with some reasonable limitations, in theory, on who can come into the country, since public property is a thing. In a free market, there would be no public property, or very little of it, and so the free market could control population. In the statist world, it can't. Even still, I think you should need a good reason to prevent someone from immigrating here, such as a known security risk or something. Private property owners of course should always be allowed to discriminate for any reason, and welfare shouldn't be a thing.

So what do you think of that article that I posted then? Is it legit, or not?
