Yea, I kinda wondered where Rand was going with the "my father, his father" and "we both have big families" thing, was wierd.
It was conservative rhetoric.

After watching Rand's endorsement a couple of times, he had the look of a POW giving his "they are treating me fine" videotaped speech. A couple of times he looks down like he needs to see a script to know what to say next. Also, you can really tell that he isn't comfortable with the endorsement.

...Insincere, that he was uncomfortable, that he was put up to it.
Just a reading from my woman's intuition meter.
Watch how he averts his eyes when he makes the original statement to the salivating Hannity. Bleh.

I think we are all trying to justify how he could do this and prior to the convention. No matter how much we speculate we won't know for sure unless he tells us.
To me it looks like his political career was threatened more than he was promised the VP position.
Agreed! I said the same thing in another post yesterday. I don't know what deal was made, but this was orchestrated - make the endorsement on FOX news so everybody sees it while at the same time, the Romney campaign puts out a press release. Rand is not a dummy and knew there would be serious backlash for doing it. My view is he's taking one for the team, but it's not for their team, it's for ours...
If he was threatened in any way, he won't be able to tell us the real reason. Maybe there is something to this whole "body language analysis" that is telling us more than he can say with words.I think we are all trying to justify how he could do this and prior to the convention. No matter how much we speculate we won't know for sure unless he tells us.
To me it looks like his political career was threatened more than he was promised the VP position. I could be wrong and as much as it nauseates me that he did it, he doesn't strike me as the uber politically ambitious type.
Maybe the Paul families really were threatened?
Yea, I agree with this train of thought. I thought the same as the OP here. I noticed how he avoided Hannity's first line of questioning.
It would not surprise me if this was done for the purposes of protecting...... others. This is not the game of Candyland that is being played. No one is safe. I think down deep we all know that. What would you have done if you were in his shoes and were faced with protecting your family?

Not to mention an entire city, along with your family in it. These people are evil. Does it not strike anyone that any of this stuff started right after his breakfast conversation with Bernanke?
