I'm Thinking of Starting a News Organization...

Programing?

Daily News shows detailing how government action conforms or fails to conform to the constitution.

Programs regarding liberty throughout history.

Short segments (like news briefs) on bills in the congress

Instructional programs on grassroots efforts, and how to run for office.

Other ideas? Add to this list.

I like those, but as I've been saying, it's not realistic to start on TV, we need to start on the internet and in print, then move to TV and radio. We should also have an information component, so we can libertarian/constitutionalist encyclopedias and books.

Yes I have a few. some history things on WHY this nation started and what the constitution meant to begin with, and how it is SO important now to keep our country one of the only FREE ones..I sort of like Liberty news, too but I would prefer American News Network (ANN) or True American news (TAN)
I love the ideas of bills in congress and government failing to conform to Constitution. I realized today, that with the FED so involved in education, they can EASILY pretend the Constitution never existed! If we do not pass down the heritage there IS none! They tried to get away with erasing RP..think how easy it would be to erase the Constitution....

I have a question. It seems that in this topic it claims for an unbias source, but I see a lot of libertarian views on what exactly this news should have. Even though I prefer a libertarian view, you can't trade one view for another and call it unbias. A true unbias source includes everyone regardless with only the straight facts and no assumptions.

So what is this news' goal on content? Libertarian-leaning or unbias?

Libertarian/Constitutionalist editorial content, but the news is totally unbiased.

Ok that's what I assumed. :D

Does Magicmike really have it all under control? I want to help but his cryptic messages make me not want to do anything until I know what I can contribute and if it hasn't been done already.

As long as we have a slogan referring to our Constitution all socialist federal views and logic will get little time simply because federally they are not Constitutional!

We're going to be so Fair and Balanced.

Here is what I am doing at the moment, the examples have already been laid out here
http://www.ronpaulnewspaper.com
and here
http://www.joearminioforcongress.org/campaign_publication.html

these people have been contacted and they want to help.

The problem. There needs to be a centralized control through a editor, and a corporation formed to work within the election laws.

The philosophy so far is to support the constitution by having articles about it from libertarians, Jeffersonians, constitutionalists and anybody with a genuine interest in the constitution.
Along with this is a plan to take the standard news and approach it from a constitutional standpoint.

At this point I am working as a coordinator for this, contacting members privately to ensure that we get serious members making the decisions,
This may be where some posters wished they did not waste time posting meaningless topics and posts, you definitely will be overlooked.

The ronpaulnewspaper.com needs help right now too, this is a pre-Super Tuesday paper that can reach a lot of people.

And I hate to bring up the word "newsletter" but that is a very good example of not being careful about who you let in.

I like the philosophy and would be willing to invest a few K if this will actually be breaking news with investigative journalists and not simply bloggers recycling news off the wire and giving it a libertarian spin.

It will probably be that for a little while, but expect much more in the future. As soon as we can get the money we can pay for journalists to be hunting high and low in DC for the next scandal. We can have entire divisions on executive orders issued by the President, and Government spying.

I don't know if trading one bias view for another is a good idea in the end. I love the idea, don't get me wrong, but it's hypocritical to say the media is bias and then turn around and do the same thing from a different standpoint.

What I envision is a truly unbias media (whatever it may be), with a blossoming op-ed section, and slight libertarian/constitutionalist leanings.

I believe explaining, in layman's terms, the gist of legislation from a constitutional perspective, telling the voters what the bills intend for them and their personal freedom.

Printing the votes for and against bills, demonizing the bad guys and printing lists during election cycles to expose the liberty-theives would do wonders in shining a light on the cockroaches.

The bills are available online, and we can also do reports to the congressmen as to the REAL impact of what they are doing, and expose them if they defy the constitution.
