I was at the U of I speech earlier. He used all the same material, but none the less I am left amazed that so many voters would choose any other candidate. He speaks the truth and sensible policies.

The building has a normal seating capacity of around 4200, but they added floor seats and there were people standing on the floor as well. they said attendance was around 5,000 and that seemed about right to me. I know I felt packed in like a sardine.

Bear with me...I've not added images or links for a long time...if ever that I recall.

Those were both taken just a few minutes before Paul arrived. If filled up just a bit more. Since I was in the crowd, on the bleachers, I only took pictures of the other half of the crowd.

so that is only 2/3 of the crowd?

The AP write up mentions that Gingrich had less than 100 but DOESN'T mention how many Ron had, just that he appeared at the University of Illinois

To put it lightly! It was just surreal seeing him speak in person. Crowd was crazy for Paul, really energized me :D

Wow... First time seeing Ron Paul in person and it was surreal!!! Even waited outside afterwords where Dr.Paul passed about 2 feet from me! :)

The old fart burning up college campuses - some good things never end and keep getting better. Now he just needs to head over to the IU campus in Indiana for some real love.

I finally got to see him speak in person tonight... It was sooo awesome.

Although so many people were packed in it was about 110 degrees in there, still didn't care... I even rushed down at the end just to try and shake his hand.

I also really enjoyed Tim Johnson's speech before hand, I hope he wins re-election (Illinois is a mess since the Dems gerrymandered all the districts).

Listening to Ron got me so energized the first thing I did when I got home was donate, lord please give us a 2nd ballot at a brokered convention... I just want to see the real delegate count one time...

was it Q&A?

Nah he didn't take any questions, probably because he was sweating bullets like the rest of us.

Def some undecided old voters I ran into (not many though as the crowd was about 90% college kids) and I heard both of them complaining about how Ron was rambling on too long and how he should denounce what Bradley Manning did as Unamerican (someone had a Free Bradley Manning sign).

The old people always make me remember why Paul's at where he's at in the polls...

But as I heard him say tonight...

"When I look at the congress I see the past, when I look out into this crowd I see the future"

We have the luxury of time, we have more of it than they do, we can't even forget the bigger picture. Gotta take back the party, gotta make way for the Ron Paul Republicans.
